University of California Alumni Chorus in Buenos Aires

The UC Alumni Chorus is a 95 member ensemble, directed by Mark Sumner, UCCE Director, and composed of Cal alumni, alumni of other UC campuses, and UC Berkeley faculty, staff and graduate students. They perform a wide variety of music, ranging from 16th century chamber choral works to traditional folk music and 20th century musical theater. It is committed to providing both musical and financial support to the University of California Choral Ensembles, through one or two joint concerts annually with the students.
Taking their music on the road is an integral part of the traditions of the chorus. They have made appearances at Australia and New Zealand, England, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Peoples Republic of China.
The chorus is currently on a tour around Uruguay and Argentina. They will offer concerts in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, La Plata and Mendoza.
Their performance in Buenos Aires will take place on Saturday, May 31st, 2008, 4 pm, at Facultad de Derecho (Law School) auditorium, Figueroa Alcorta 2263, with free entrance.
On June 1st, 8 pm, they will perform at La Plata's Municipal Palace.
