Elton John and Tim Rice's "Aida" in Buenos Aires

Aida, the musical by the authors of Lion King, Elton John and Tim Rice, and based on Giuseppe Verdi's opera, will be presented for two nights in Buenos Aires. The play tells the story of an enslaved Nubian princess, Aida, and her struggle for the love of Radames, captain of the soldiers and fiance of princess Amneris, and for the liberation of her people. It consists of 22 musical themes, divided into two acts, with a cast of 45 artists on stage and 12 musicians.
The music of Aida, which premiered on Boradway in 2000, was composed by Elton John, mixing all kinds of musical styles: "Another Pyramid" is a modern reggae; "My strongest suit" is based on Motown and pop; "The gods love Nubia" is gospel-inspired; "Not me", "Elaborate lives", "A step too far" and "Written in the stars", reflect Elton John's classical pop style.
The play will be performed in English with Spanish subtitles.
