The best Operas from The Metropolitan Opera House live in Buenos Aires

Thanks to an agreement signed with Metropolitan Opera House of New York, the Subsecretary of Culture of the city of Buenos Aires presents the 11 High Definition transmissions, captured by 32 cameras, of the 2008-09 opera season, live from the Metropolitan Opera stage in New York City, at Centro Cultural Cine Teatro 25 de Mayo.
Opera lovers in Buenos Aires will now be able to enjoy the best productions, with the greatest singers and reggisseurs of the moment. The series starts September 22nd, 2008, with the Opening Night Gala starring soprano Renée Fleming and tenor Ramón Vargas, in acts from operas of Giuseppe Verdi, Jules Massenet and Richard Strauss.
The CCCT 25 de Mayo is the first theater in South America to join the network of almost 800 venues in 17 countries that receive “The MET: Live in HD”. The previous season was enjoyed by an audience of 1 million people around the world.
