The Director's Fortnight (Quinzaine des réalisateurs) in Buenos Aires

On Wednesday, September 17th, 2008, Olivier Père, artistic director of the "Quinzaine des réalisateurs" (The Director's Fortnight), will be presenting this showcase, one of the most important events in the calendar of international festivals, composed of 44 films that account for the richness, risk and diversity of movie making.
The Quinzaine, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, was born amid the political and cultural turmoil of May of '68, and from then on it keeps endorsing the free, independent, cinema, that goes beyond labels and frontiers.
This event is sponsored by: French Emabssy, Goethe-Institut, Cinémathèque Française, Austrian Film Commission, Cultural and Informative Center of the Embassy of Japan, and the Embassies of Austria, México and Portugal.
