Horse racing: Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini 2008

The Gran Premio Internacional Carlos Pellegrini, the most important classic race in the Argentine horse racing calendar, and one of the oldest in the history of Latin American turf, will take place next Saturday, December 13 2008, at Hipodromo de San Isidro, from 1 PM.
This prize was created in 1887, in honor of one of the founders and first president of Buenos Aires Jockey Club, Carlos Pellegrini, who was also President of Argentina.
The race, run on a distance of 2400 meters by horses from different countries, marks the end of the horse racing season in Argentina.
There will be activities for the whole family, including a playground for children, exhibition of classic cars, musical bands that will play between races, military bands, in a natural setting decorated according to the Christmas season.
It is also a charity event, in aid of the Fundación Hospital Juan A. Fernández.
