SOUTHFEST 2009

Southfest is the first Latin American festival with origin in Buenos Aires, characterized for combining bands with national and international DJs. Underworld, Paul Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, Deep Dish, LCD Soundsystem, Faithless, Steve Lawler, Nathan Fake, Mylo, Gui Boratto, Ladytron, MSTRKRFT and Cagedbaby are some of the artists that will be presented in this sixth edition of the festival.

KISS

BILLY COBHAM

One of the greatest drummers in the world, who played with Miles Davis and founded, along with McLaughlin the first Mahavishnu Orchestra, will offer an only show in Buenos Aires. His new band, the Billy Cobham Band, is made of Jean-Marie Ecay in guitar, Fifi Chayeb in bass, Christophe Cravero in keyboards and violin, Marco Lobo in percussion, and Billy Cobham in drums and musical direction.

GARY BURTON
A unique opportunity to enjoy the music of Astor Piazzolla, performed by the members of his last quintet: Pablo Ziegler in piano, Héctor Console in double-bass, Fernando Suárez Paz in violin, Ricardo Lew in guitar and Marcelo Nisinman in bandoneon, along with the outstanding vibraphone player Gary Burton. In 1997 Burton recorded his second collection of tango music, Astor Piazzolla Reunion, featuring the top tango musicians of Argentina, followed by Libertango in 2000, another Piazzolla project.
