Festivales Musicales de Buenos Aires presents its 2010 program of concerts
Festivales Musicales de Buenos Aires,
the 30-year old non-profit organization with the aim of spreading music
in its highest artistic expressions, presents the Festival 2010: "Bach and the Schumann Circle".
2010 is the year of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann (1810-1857) and Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849). In 1850, the Bachgesellschaft (Bach Society) was created in Leipzig under Schumann's initiative, showing his predilection for Bach, shared by an exquisite circle of composers, like Chopin, Brahms, Mendelssohn, and the renowned pianist Clara Schumann.
This year's program includes a selection of works from the above mentioned composers, including great symphonic-choral works, concerts, symphonies and chamber music, performed by notable Argentinian and international musicians.
