Teatro Colon presents free ballet performances

As of Friday 5th March 2010, the Ballet of Teatro Colon, under the direction of Lidia Segni, will offer a series of performances with free admission as part of the summer season, to be held in the Amphitheater of Parque Centenario. There will be four mixed programs for all ages.

The program will start with Don Quixote (acts one and two), the picturesque choreography by Marius Petipa based on Cervantes' immortal novel, and music by Leon Minkus. The two main characters will alternately played by Silvina Perillo-Alejandro Parente, and Maricel Mitri-Juan Pablo Ledo.
Friday 5th, 8 pm
Saturday 6th, 8 pm
Sunday 7th, 7 pm.


The second presentation will include the following program: "Vivaldi in concert", choreographed by Lidia Segni on music by Antonio Vivaldi, with the couples Maricel De Mitri / Adrian Lopez and Maria Clara Da Silva / Vagram Ambartsoumian; Diana and Actaeon pas de deux by Agrippina Vaganova, choreographed by Lidia Segni, with music by Cesare Pugni, which will be played by Carla Vincelli and Dalmiro Astesiano; Kicho, another pas de deux signed by Julio Lopez, on the tango of the same name by Astor Piazzolla, by Gabriela Alberti and Alejandro Parente; and as closing: Pulsaciones, choreography by Vittorio Biagi, with percussionists Daniel Bugallo and the author himself.

Sunday 14th, 7 pm


The third mixed program will include "Vivaldi in concert" and "Kicho" again, along with two other fragments: Pas d’esclaves, choreography by Marius Petipa on the production by Piotr Gusev, with music by Ricardo Drigo, that will be danced by Silvina Perillo and Gerardo Wyss; and the third Act of Don Quixote, played by Nadia Muzyka and Federico Fernández.
Saturday 20th, 8 pm
Sunday 21st, 7 pm


The fourth program will feature Ludwig Van Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and Opus 125 "Choral".
Saturday 27, 8 pm
Sunday 28, 7 pm

All performances will take place in the Eva Perón Auditorium of Parque Centenario, located at Passaje Lillo and Leopoldo Marechal. The performances will be suspended in case of rain.
Free entry tickets must be picked up at Casa de la Cultura, Avenida de Mayo 575,  Monday to Thursday 11 am to 3 pm, and Fridays 11 am to 3 pm.  Up to two tickets per person. Remainder tickets can be picked up at the venue two hours before the shows begin. Limited Capacity.
