Gallery Nights July 2010 edition

On Friday, July 30th, 2010, from 7 PM, a new edition of Gallery Nights, the original circuit for art lovers around more than 60 art galleries, antique shops, museums and cultural centers, will take place in the neighborhoods of Retiro and Barrio Norte in Buenos Aires. Gallery Nights is organized by the art magazine Arte al Día, AdnCultura (La Nacion newspaper), and the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, the last Friday of every month.

Gallery Nights celebrates it's 10th anniversary this year, and as always, there will be live music and free shows, and guests will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of Chandon champagne. Maps will be provided to the public so they can visit their favorite galleries and exhibitions at their own pace.

During 2010 a series of conferences will be presented for the public to attend and talk with the most outstanding specialists in the art world. This month the meeting will be with artist Carolina Antoniadis. It will take place at 7 pm at the British Arts Centre Auditorium, Suipacha 1333.

For the celebration of Argentina's Bicentennial, Gallery Nights will present a work by artist Eduardo Pla, made entirely with Nespresso coffee capsules, representing Gardel. It will be on exhibition at the door of Hotel Sofitel, Arroyo 841.

The space STILE ITALIA (Posadas 1029), presents an exhibition by Italian artists.

Sofitel Buenos Aires Arroyo, along with Galería Holz, present an Art Lottery, with the possibility of winning important art works from Argentine artists. It takes place at 7pm at the Sofitel Buenos Aires, with free entrance, in benefit of Fundamind.

The traditional circuit of Gallery Nights covers from Plaza San Martín to Callao and from Tucumán to Libertador. There is also a free transportation service with fixed stops and a constant route to get to all of the spots in the circuit.

This event is totally free of charge.
