Malba - Fundación Costantini opens the exhibition Yayoi Kusama - Infinit Obsession, the first retrospective in Latin America of the greatest living Japanese artist. Organized in collaboration with the study of the artist, the exhibition presents a comprehensive tour through more than 100 works created between 1950 and 2013, including paintings, works on paper, sculptures, videos, slideshows and installations.

Curated by Philip Larratt-Smith (Vice Chief Curator, Malba, Buenos Aires) and Frances Morris (head of international collections of Tate Modern, London, and curator of the retrospective of Kusama at the institution), the exhibition presents the full career of this artist.

Yayoi Kusama - Infinite Obsession includes the most important series of her nearly six decades of artistic production. Highlights of the exhibition are her Infinity Nets from the 50s, and the Accumulations sculptures, her performances and happenings in New York from the 60s, present in series like Self-Obliteration, and her recent paintings and installations, such as I'm Here, but Nothing (2000-2013), Infinity Mirrored Room - Filled with the Brilliance of Life, (2011) and The Obliteration Room, (2002-2013), white room that the public will intervene with colored spots throughout the exhibition. The Museum also presents an intervention with her iconic red polka dots on the front of Malba and a set of trees along Figueroa Alcorta Avenue.

On the occasion of the exhibition, Malba publishes a special volume of 232 pages published in Spanish and English. The book includes a section of color illustrations of works in the exhibition, essays by Larratt-Smith ("Song of an addict to suicide") and Frances Morris ("Yayoi Kusama. My life, one spot") and a visual chronology of the artist’s life.
