Every March 17th, the most important day in its calendar, Ireland celebrates its patron saint, Saint Patrick. This special date will be celebrated in with a big parade in Buenos Aires on Sunday, March 15th, 2015.
This event is organized by the Irish - Argentine Association "William Brown" and the Government of Buenos Aires.
Stands of the Irish community and other Celtic countries will be set up on Plaza San Martin, from 12 pm, where they will offer typical food, crafts, and different products.
The groups Celtic Argentina and Emeraldance, and the band Noche de San Juan, together with the Scottish Argentine Society and the Buenos Aires Scottish Guard, will be presenting their traditional dances and music on the main stage from 2 pm.
Before the parade, at 5 pm, the Irish community will pay homage to the Jewish community at Arroyo & Suipacha, site of the bombing of the Israeli Embassy, in commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attack.
The Saint Patrick Parade will start at Arroyo and Suipacha at 6 pm to finish at Plaza San Martin with a show with Irish music and dance.  The parade will include a costume contest for "leprechauns" (gnomes) and "fairies" for adults and children.

The Irish community in Argentina is one of the largest in the world (calculated in 500,000 people). In recent years the celebration of St Patrick’s day has been extended to most of the pubs in Buenos Aires, where people of different nationalities and ages gather to party all night long.
