On Saturday April 18th, 2015, the traditional Mataderos Fair, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires, moves to Avenida de Mayo with a festival where visitors will have the chance to enjoy folk music shows, and purchase craft stalls and regional products.
The event, similar to the Fair held every Sunday in Mataderos, will be held from 11 am to 8 pm on Avenida de Mayo between Bolivar & Chacabuco, in downtown Buenos Aires.
Dance and music shows will be presented on the main stage, with the presence of Tomás Lipán as main artist, and performances by: Candela Maza, Sikipura, Clave Santiagueña, Pancho Escalada, Los Bombos Zupay, Bellet Kapuy, Ballet Compañia de Arte Danzay.
The Fair will feature stalls with traditional crafts from our provinces, like “mates”, cutlery, silverware, textiles, leather and handicrafts of indigenous peoples, local products from around the country, including goat cheese, olives, wine, salami and alfajores, and traditional foods such as empanadas, locro, humita, tamales, meats, tortas fritas and pastelitos.
The Festival and all activities are free of charge, and will be suspended in case of rain.
