2nd Buenos Aires Ragtime Festival

A new edition of "Buenos Aires Ragtime", the international festival dedicated to this musical genre in the city, will take place from November 6th to November 8th, 2015, at Centro Cultural Recoleta Junin 1980, with free entrance to the public.
Ragtime is a rhythmic, syncopated musical genre previous to jazz, that was born in Mississippi on the last decade of the XIX century.
Some of the most outstanding musicians from USA and Canada will be participating in the festival: Brian Holland, Bryan Wright, Danny Coots, Brooks Christensen, Mimi Blais, as well as Yuko Eguchi from Japan, among numerous prestigious local performers, such as Manuel Fraga, Julio Remersaro, Guillermo Riportela and Héctor García, among others.

The program of activities includes:
  • Piano, tuba, banjo and washboard recitals
  • Dance lesson
  • Dance shows with period costumes
  • Silent movies with live piano accompaniment
  • Informative and didactic talks
Times:
Friday 6: 6 pm to 8.30 pm
Saturday 7: 2 pm to 8.30 pm
Sunday 8: 3 pm to 8.30 pm
