Every March 17th, the most important day in its calendar, Ireland celebrates its patron saint, Saint Patrick. This special date will be celebrated with a big parade in Buenos Aires on Saturday, March 19th, 2016.
This event is organized by the Irish - Argentine Association "William Brown" and the Government of Buenos Aires.
Stands of the Irish community and other Celtic countries will be set up in Plaza San Martin, on Av. Santa Fe & Maipu, from 12 pm, where they will offer typical food, crafts, and different products.
The Saint Patrick Parade will start at Arroyo and Suipacha at 3.15 pm to finish at Plaza San Martin, where Irish music groups will be presenting their traditional dances and music on the main stage from 3.45 pm.
The parade will include the traditional costume contest for "leprechauns" (gnomes) and "fairies" for adults and children.

The Irish community in Argentina is one of the largest in the world (calculated in 500,000 people). In recent years the celebration of St Patrick’s day has been extended to most of the pubs in Buenos Aires, where people of different nationalities and ages gather to party all night long.
