The Night of Philosophy - and good food

On the night of Saturday, June 25th, 2016, from 7 pm and until the wee hours of the night, renowned Argentinian, French and German philosophers will meet audiences to exchange ideas and thoughts at the magnificent spaces of Centro Cultural Kirchner (Sarmiento 151).

The Night of Philosophy (La Noche de la Filosofía) is a format of an all-night philosophy happening created in Paris in 2010 by Mériam Korichi, that has been staged since in London, Berlin, New York, Athens, Rabat, and that arrived in Buenos Aires in 2015.

The international guest participants this year are: Anne Dufourmantelle; Julien Berjeault; Magali Bessone;  Marc Augé;Mathias Girel; Patrick Boucheron; Pierre Cassou-Noguès;  (France). Encarnación Gutiérrez-Rodríguez; Claudia Hammerschmidt; Johannes Völz; Katja Crone; Vittoria Borsò; Anna Biselli (Germany).

Every intellectual will offer a 30 minute theoretical presentation about a selected issue, in different matters such as philosophy, anthropology, sociology, semiotics, psychology, and history.

All the activities will be free of charge. The program includes:
  • A special place that represents the Greek Agora, dedicated to questions from the public and debate with philosophers.
  • Theater plays
  • Music: live bands and DJs 
  • Individual lectures
  • Cinema 
  • Visual Arts
  • Workshops for kids
In addition, the three participant countries - Argentina, France and Germany - will be represented in a Gastronomic Fair, offering Crepes, fondue, soupe à l'oignon, quiche lorraine, patisserie, frankfurters, goulash, carbonada, roasted meat, strudel, gluhwein, lamb pie, jambonneau, wines, cocktails, and much more.

Tickets: all the activities are free but limited to the capacity of each conference room or auditorium. Free tickets will be available for pick up on the same day, from 3 pm at the venue.
