Buenos Aires Celebrates Japan 2018

The Festival Buenos Aires Celebrates Japan and the Artistic Japanese Parade celebrating 120 years of friendship between Japan and Argentina will take place on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 on Avenida San Juan & Avenida Jujuy, from 12 pm to 7 pm.

This Festival is organized by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires and the Nikkei Federation in Argentina (FANA), and sponsored by the Embassy of Japan in Argentina, the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Argentina.

Visitors will have the chance to see karate and kendo demonstrations by martial arts groups, artistic shows, Japanese drums "Taiko", and "ondo" - dancing to Japanese music with the participation of the public.

Typical Japanese products and food, including Udon, Onigiri, Okonomiyaki, Bento, Ramen, Sushi, Tempura, Sashimi,Wagashi, will be on sale at more than 50 stands.

Commemorating the 120 years of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Trade and Navigation between Argentina and Japan, an Artistic Parade will be held on Avenida San Juan with the participation of more than 800 people from the Japanese community in Argentina.
