The Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 will kick off on Saturday, October 6th, at 8.00 pm local time, with the opening ceremony, that will be held for the first time in the history of the Olympic Games outside a stadium. In the center of Buenos Aires, on Av. 9 de Julio and with the Obelisk as the iconic backdrop, Buenos Aires 2018 will begin.

The Argentine theater company, Fuerza Bruta, which has captivated the global public with innovative shows that challenge the senses, will oversee the ceremony’s artistic direction. More than 350 people, including actors, technicians and musicians, will be part of Fuerza Bruta's performance team.

On October 7th, the action will move to the Olympic Parks and Venues in different locations across the city. Buenos Aires 2018 will be the scenario for 32 sports and 36 disciplines. It will be the debut of karate, sport climbing, breaking, roller speed skating, futsal, kiteboarding, beach handball and BMX freestyle. There will be 286 high adrenaline sport sessions and 1250 medals will be awarded during the 12 days of the competition. The closing ceremony will be on October 18th.

To be able to enter the stadiums and watch the best 4,012 young athletes on the planet in action, a Youth Olympic Pass is mandatory. The Youth Olympic Pass presented by Samsung is an electronic bracelet that will allow the public to enter for free all four Youth Olympic Parks, stadiums and stand-alone venues every day; attend the sports competitions; and participate in over 1,200 cultural and educational activities.

In order to obtain the Pass registration is required through this link.

The Pass will not guarantee access to all venues, sports competitions and activities as the four Parks of Buenos Aires 2018 will have a limited capacity. The admission will be on a strict “first-come, first-served” basis: after the maximum capacity is reached, admission will not be allowed.

The Pass is individual, non-transferable and free of charge.

Once registration is complete, you must collect your Pass at one of the Pick-Up Points to make sure that you get your bracelet. Remember that the amount is limited. Registration will not guarantee that you will get your Youth Olympic Pass if you do not pick it up on time.
