Buenos Aires Food Week - May 2019



Buenos Aires Food Week, the bi-annual event in which the best restaurants in the city offer lunch and dinner menus at promotional prices, will be held again from May 6th through May 19th of 2019 (previous week for Mastercard Argentina cardholders only).

The goal of this Food Week is democratizing access to haute-cuisine, offering the general public the opportunity to discover new restaurants and taste unique dishes at attractive prices.

Each restaurant will offer a fixed three step menu (starter, main course and dessert) with a fixed price of $400 Pesos for lunch and $680 Pesos for dinner, not including drinks, service charge, or tip, + an optional donation in a sealed envelope to the charity organization Fundación Banco de Alimentos.

Furthermore all the restaurants will offer a complimentary Aperol Spritz aperitif to each person that orders the Buenos Aires Food Week menu.

Some restaurants offer lunch or dinner menu only. Check the conditions of participation of every restaurant before making a reservation.
If places are left available, people may also attend the restaurant of their choice directly without reservation.
Payments can be made in cash, debit card, or credit card at the end of the meal.

Buenos Aires Coffee Festival April 2019 edition


A new edition of the Buenos Aires Coffee Festival (FECA - FEstival de CAfé) will be held on Saturday, April 27th and Sunday, April 28th, 2019 at  Plaza República del Perú (Av. Figueroa Alcorta & Salguero, next to Malba museum), from 10 am to 9 pm, with free access to the public.

The best Notable and traditional Cafes of Buenos Aires will be present with their stands, as well as other modern and specialty coffee houses, all with options to taste their best coffees; a Market to purchase grains to take home; and food trucks with different gastronomic offers for lunch or sweet pastries to enjoy with your coffee.

At the Auditorium visitors will be able to attend a series of talks and workshops (all in Spanish), and special activities for kids. 

The Festival may be suspended in case of rain.

Gluten Free Fair - March 2019 edition



A new edition of "Feria Sin TACC", the Food Fair completely dedicated to gluten free products will be held on Saturday, March 30th and Sunday, March 31st of 2019 at the Palermo Woods, on Av. Figueroa Alcorta & Av. Dorrego, from 11 am to 7 pm.

The Fair will be divided into two sectors:

Market: 40 stalls offering oil, spices, marmalade, jams, infusions, soft drinks, delicatessen, diary, bread, fruits and vegetables, pasta, snacks, nuts, cold cuts, cereals and grains, cookies, juices, preserves, flour, frozen food, soups.

Food court: Stands and food trucks offering prepared food to go or to enjoy at the communal tables, including sushi, meat, pasta, author dishes, vegetarian options, ethnic food, among many other options. The stalls will be run by restaurants and cooks with a vast experience in the elaboration of gluten free food.




In case of rain the Fair may be suspended.

St Patrick's Day Celebration 2019


Every March 17th, the most important day in its calendar, Ireland celebrates its patron saint, Saint Patrick. This special date will be celebrated once again with a big Fair and Street Parade in Buenos Aires on Sunday, March 17th, 2019, from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm,  on Avenida de Mayo and Bolivar in downtown Buenos Aires.

The event will start at 12 pm, with the opening of the Celtic and Nordic Fair, with more than 50 stalls offering typical Irish products, crafts and traditional food such as and Colcannon, Boxty and Coddle, among many other specialties.

The traditional Saint Patrick's Day Parade will start at 3:00 pm, with Irish music groups that will be presenting their traditional dances and music. The parade will include the traditional costume contest for "leprechauns" (gnomes) and "fairies" for adults and children. Visitors are encouraged to wear green.

The Marching Bands of the Argentine Army and Patricios Regiment will also participate in this event, in honor of the Irish born Admiral William (Guillermo) Brown, founder of the Argentine Army.

During the day different shows will be presented on the main stage, including traditional folk dances, music and pipes. A band paying tribute to U2 that will perform their most well known songs. And the Irish singer Rebecca Winckworth will sing typical Irish songs together with Argentine musicians.

This event is organized by the Irish - Argentine Association and the Government of the city of Buenos Aires.






The Irish community in Argentina is one of the largest in the world (calculated in 500,000 people). In recent years the celebration of St Patrick’s Day has been extended to most of the Pubs in Buenos Aires and all Argentina. Gastronomic Festival of the Foreign Communities - March 2019


A giant Food Court representing more than 40 different foreign communities living in Buenos Aires will be set up on Avenida de Mayo & Bolivar next Saturday, March 16th of 2019, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The typical dishes of every region will be offered in more than 70 food stands along Avenida de Mayo, as well as crafts and traditional products from every represented country. Different traditional groups will offer their performances along the avenue and on the main stage through the afternoon.

This year more than 30 cooks will present their typical dishes to participate in the third edition of the "Foreign Communities Cooking Challenge", a contest that will consist of three stages and a final round, where a jury made up of renowned chefs will select the winning chef.

After the winner is announced the event will be closed with a music show by Emmanuel Horvilleur.

In case of rain the event will be held on April 6th.

French Street Market in Recoleta - March 2019



On Saturday March 16th and Sunday March 17th, 2019, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, another edition of the authentic French Market called "Le Marché" will be installed at Plaza Francia, on Av. Del Libertador between Dr. Luis Agote & Av. Pueyrredón.

Over 25 gastronomic stalls run by some of the most renowned French chefs and restaurants in Argentina will be offering their special dishes. Visitors will have the chance to taste and purchase French bakeries and different specialties from the French cuisine, like Macarons, croissants, éclairs, croque-monsieur, boeuf bourguignon, crêpes, raclette, quiches, onion soup, and much more!


There will be a sector dedicated to French produce, characteristic of the French cuisine, like cheese, cold cuts, bread, mustard, jams, among many other delicacies.




Live French music shows, talks, tastings and activities for kids will be presented during the weekend, celebrating the Francophonie week.

Chinese New Year Celebration 2019



A special two-day festival celebrating the start of the Year of the Pig will be held on Saturday, February 2nd and Sunday, February 3rd, 2019, at the park "Plaza Parques Nacionales Argentinos" located on Av. Figueroa Alcorta between Sucre and Echeverria, in the neighborhood of Belgrano.

This is the most important celebration in the Chinese culture, also known as the Spring Festival. The mega event will feature more than 50 gastronomic and cultural stands where visitors will have the chance to taste typical food and purchase Chinese products.

At the main stage dance and music shows will be presented throughout the weekend, including the traditional Dragon Dance and Lion Dance, as well as demonstrations of Oriental martial arts; and a parade showcasing Traditional Chinese costumes. Tthe Artistic Group of the province of  Zhejiang will be present with different traditional Chinese performances.

On both days all the shops, supermarkets and restaurants of the Chinese Quarter on Arribeños and Juramento St. will be open from 10.00 am, offering their traditional products and street food, and a Gastronomic and Cultural Fair organized by the Taiwanese community.

Sabor USA Argentina American Food Week 2018



The third edition of Sabor USA Argentina Food Week, a gastronomic event that celebrates the best of the contemporary American cuisine, will be held in Buenos Aires from December 8th to December 15th, 2018

More than 70 restaurants in the cities of Buenos Aires, Cordoba, San Juan and Rosario, will offer menus at special prices representing the typical dishes of the USA, this  year inspired in the Miami food scene, a city known by the diversity and mix of flavors of its gastronomy.

American and Argentine chefs will offer the opportunity to enjoy classics like Buffalo chicken wings,  Pork Tomahawk, Hamburgers, apple pie, New York style cheesecake, Carrot cake, and much more!

Sabor USA Argentina Food Week is organized by the American Embassy in Argentina and the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, and Coffee shops.

Italian Festival Al Dente 2018



The sixth edition of the gastronomic, artistic and cultural festival "Al Dente! Día de la Italianidad en Argentina" will be held on Saturday, December 8th, from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM and Sunday, December 9th, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, in the neighborhood of Colegiales, next to the Flea Market on Av. Dorrego and Enrique Martínez, with free access to the public

"Al Dente!" is a celebration of the Italian gastronomy, that also features cultural, artistic and musical activities. Communal tables, activities for kids, food trucks with vegan and gluten free options, more than 40 market stalls offering Italian and Argentinian products are some of the attractions of Festival Al Dente!

Several musical shows will be presented all day during the weekend at the main stage. This year the Cosmic Vegan Fest, which started in Italy in 2013, will be present at the Festival with healthy activities.

All visitors are invited to bring a toy, that will be donated as a Christmas gift for the oncology patients at the Children's Hospitals Pedro Elizalde, Juan P. Garrahan and Ricardo Gutiérrez. The toys must be wrapped but they cannot include any stuffed toys or play dough since these are not authorized for patients undergoing chemotherapy.

The Night of the Provincial Houses 2018



The Night of the Provincial Houses (“La Noche de las Casas de Provincia“) an yearly event that shows the cultural diversity in Argentina, will take place on Thursday, December 6th, 2018, from 5:00 PM to 11.00 PM.

The "Casas de Provincia" are the representative offices of each province in the city of Buenos Aires, and they will open their doors with free access to the public on this night to present their attractions, festivities, crafts, music, tourist services, food, wines, traditional products, tastings, and much more!

Numerous artists from all around the country will be presenting live music and dance shows at the main stages distributed along the three circuits in which the Casas are organized, according to their location:

Circuit 1: Casa de Santiago del Estero (Florida 274), Casa de Santa Cruz (25 de Mayo 279), Casa de Santa Fe (25 de Mayo 178), Casa de Corrientes (Maipú 271), Casa de Tucumán (Suipacha 140), Casa del Neuquén (Maipú 48), Casa de Tierra del Fuego (Sarmiento 745).

Gourmet Festival, Futbol and Horse Racing at Hipodromo de Palermo


A new edition of the Gourmet Festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday November 24th, from 12.00 Noon to 2.00 AM and Sunday November 25th from 12.00 Noon to 12.00 AM, at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo (Av. del Libertador & Dorrego).

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together with more than 30 food trucks offering hamburgers, crepes, pulled, pork, bagels, Mexican food, empanadas, fish, vegetarian food, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, artisan beer, cocktails and drinks, and much more!

On Saturday 24th at 5.00 PM visitors will also be able to watch live on a Giant Screen the Superclásico futbol match River Plate vs Boca Junios for the Final of Copa Libertadores 2018 (no futbol shirts will be allowed at the venue).

On Sunday 25th from 2.00 pm to 9.00 pm visitors will have the chance to enjoy the horse races of the day.

Festival of the Foreign Communities November 2018



A big festival celebrating the culture and traditions of the foreign communities that live in the city of Buenos Aires will be held on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 at the park Facundo Quiroga, next to the Rose Garden (Av. Sarmiento & Figueroa Alcorta), with free access to the public, from 11.00 AM to 7.00 PM.

More than 40 different communities that reside in Buenos Aires will offer their typical dances, food, music and culture, in an event for the whole family. 

During the day visitors will have the chance to attend national and international dance and music shows at the main stage, cultural activities, parades with typical costumes, and the traditional gastronomic Food Court with typical dishes from all the participating countries,

Night Edition of the Organic and Healthy Food Market in Palermo


The main producers of organic and healthy food in Argentina will gather once again, this time for a night edition of the traditional Buenos Aires Market, on Friday, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th, 2018, from 5.00 pm to 12.00 am, with free access to the public.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste free samples and buy at promotional prices natural foods and beverages in an area specially located at Parque Las Heras located on Av. Las Heras & Coronel Díaz

More than 60 gazebos will be installed inside the park, where the participating producers will offer organic and natural products such as Oils; Alcoholic drinks (organic wines, beers); Soft drinks and natural juices; Cereals and seeds; Spices; Nuts; Fruits & Vegetables; Farm produce; Delicatessen; Gourmet food; Flour and derivatives; Mushrooms; Infusions; Vegetables; Dairy; Bakery; Jams; edible Flowers; Pasta; Herbs; Snacks, and more.

More than 10 food trucks will be offering special menus for visitors and healthy food to go or to enjoy right there on the communal tables of this picturesque market.

Yerba Mate Fair 'Matear 2018'



MATEAR, the only Fair dedicated exclusively to the world of Mate, organized by the National Institute of Yerba Mate (INYM) will take place on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th (Tradition Day) and Sunday 11th of November 2018 at La Rural Exhibition Center, with free entrance to the public.

During these three days visitors will have the chance learn and discover everything about Argentina's national infusion with talks, lessons and workshops, and find all the products necessary to prepare a good mate:

Yerba Mate: purchase and taste yerba mate directly from the producers, and even get some brands that cannot be found at the supermarkets; discover the many different uses of Yerba mate in gastronomy and drinks; find promotions and offers.

San Telmo Fest 2018



The second edition of San Telmo Fest will take place on Saturday, November 10th, from 6.00 PM to 2.00 AM, with a varied offer of cultural activities that characterize this cosmopolitan and bohemian neighborhood.

Visitors will enjoy open air milonga and candombe music and dance, concerts, book fairs, art exhibitions, gastronomic offers, as well as visits to museums and historical sites that will also be part of the Museum Night that will be taking place on that same day.

The main producers of organic and healthy food in Argentina will gather again in a street market in Buenos Aires, on Saturday November 17th and Sunday, November 18th, 2018, from 10 am to 7 pm, with free access to the public.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste free samples and buy at promotional prices natural foods and beverages in an area specially located at Plaza Vicente López located on Arenales & Montevideo, in Recoleta.

Horse Racing 'Gran Premio Nacional' and Food Festival in Palermo

GRAN PREMIO NACIONAL




The "Gran Premio Nacional" (GI), the oldest and most important race in the Argentine turf calendar, will take place on Saturday, November 10th, 2018, at Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo, Av. Libertador & Dorrego.

On October 5, 1884, the Hipodrómo Argentino de Palermo inaugurated what would become the most important race in the yearly calendar, the Gran Premio Nacional. This great prize is also known as the "Argentine Derby".  This outstanding 2500-meter race is very attractive for the public since due to the distance the start is located facing the grandstands. Other classics (GI) are included in the day's schedule: Gran Premio Hipódromo de Palermo and Gran Premio Maipu.

The Great Prize "Gran Premio Nacional" will be the center of a spectacular journey that will start at 11:30 am, with different activities for the whole family, such as:

° "Behind the scenes" of horse racing: a guided tour led by specialized guides, that will be available every 30 minutes, from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
° Historic tour: every hour from 2 pm to 5 pm, a tour to learn about the history and architecture of one of the most emblematic sites in the city of Buenos Aires.
° Train to the Start Line: a little train will take visitors near the gates to see the start of the races up close.


NOTICE: APETITO FESTIVAL GOURMET HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR BAD WEATHER FORECTAST AND REPROGRAMMED FOR NOVEMBER 24th AND 25th


At the same time, a new edition of the gourmet festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday, November 10th from 12 noon to 2 am, and will continue on Sunday November 11th, from noon to 12 am.

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together along the racing track, with entrance through Av. Dorrego and Av. Libertador, with over 30 food trucks offering waffles, ribs, crepes, wraps, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, vegetarian options, and much more!

Buenos Aires celebrates the Argentine regions




On Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, the Fair of the Argentine Regions will be held on Avenida de Mayo between Bolivar & Piedras, from 12 pm to 9 pm, with the participation of over 100 small producers and the representation of all the provinces from all over the country.

Visitors will find crafts, wines and beers, chocolate, jams, cold meats, diary, yerba mate, olives, among many other national products.

The Fair will also feature a food court offering typical dishes at accessible prices, including empanadas from different provinces, parrilla, ice cream, Andean food, as well as cooking classes to learn to prepare regional dishes.

In addition a varied selection of artists will present music and dance shows, finishing with a Carnaval parade that will showcase the magic, color and music of the regional carnivals.
