1st Burger Festival at Hipodromo de Palermo


The first edition of "Burger Fest", a gastronomic festival that will bring together the best burger joints and gourmet burger cooks in Buenos Aires, will take place on Saturday October 22nd and Sunday October 23rd 2016 at Hipodromo de Palermo, on Av. del Libertador & Dorrego, from 11 am to 8 pm, with free entrance to the public.
More than 65 stands and food trucks will be offering burgers in all its varieties. Among them: Big Sur, Dellepiane, Kon Kon, Mi Barrio, Negroni, Nucho, On Tap, Burger Mood, Delirio, Deltoro, Diggs, El Rodazo, Hard Rock Café, Luciano López Fuentes, La Dorita, Los Infernales, Rodrigo Toso, Nómade, San Gennaro, The Embers, Amics. 
The Burger Fest will also include a sector specially dedicated to other forms of fast food, like hot dogs, tacos and  sandwiches, as well as a beer garden where some of the best brands in Argentina will offer the best pairings for each type of food. The participating brands are: Cervelar, The Craft Beertruck, La Membresía, Antares, Sol, among others.
There will also be a wine food truck and a cocktail food truck, for those who prefer other types of drinks.

French Street Market in Recoleta



On Saturday October 22nd and Sunday October 23rd, 2016, from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, another edition of the authentic French Market called "Le Marché" will be installed at Plaza Francia, on Av. Del Libertador between Dr. Luis Agote & Av. Pueyrredón, with over 25 gastronomic stalls run by some of the most renowned French chefs and restaurants in Argentina, such as: Bonjour Catering, Chez Lucas y Laety, Chomnalez Catering, Fleur de Sel, Frenchie, Instituto Superior Mariano Moreno, L´épi Boulangerie, Labán pâtisserie, Le Beaujolais, Le Bistrot, Le Troquet de Henry, Les Olivier, Méli Mélo, Myette Catering, Paris Burger, Pulpería Quilapán, Topinambour Catering, Un, dos, crêpes, Cabaña Las Dinas, Compañia de Chocolates, Geson, Gourmand Place, Laboratorio de helados, Ifisa, Julep, Kakawa, Le Gratin, Mauricio Asta, Nomade Comida Rica, Porto, Quesos La Suerte, The Crème Brûlé Co., and more.

Visitors will have the chance to taste and purchase French bakeries and different specialties from the French cuisine, like crêpes, macarons, strawberry charlotte, éclairs, profiterolles, moelleux au chocolat, confit lamb, salmon terrine, soupe à l’oignon, quiches, pissaladière,… and much more.

Live music shows and activities for kids will be presented during the weekend.

Gourmet Market and Polo at Hurlingham Club




A fantastic event featuring food trucks, a gourmet market, polo games, live music shows, a fair of vinyl records, a beer garden, and an exhibition of classic cars will be held at the magnificent Hurlingham Club on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd, and Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of October 2016, from 12 pm to 8 pm, with free entrance to the public.

This special edition of Buenos Aires Market will be held next to the main polo field where the matches of the Hurligham Polo Open will be played at 2 pm and 4.30 pm.


At the Gourmet Market visitors will be able to purchase delicatessen from local producers, like cheese, bread, spices, chocolates, patisserie, artisan beer, and much more.

The food trucks will offer their irresistible proposals for lunch and after polo, in French, Italian, Japanese, Arabic cuisine, as well as vegetarian options, Argentine parrillas, and much more, in a special sector with communal tables and picnic area.

There will also be a beer garden, as well as offers of cocktails, drinks, and free tastings of wines and champagne.

At the center of the Fair there will be a stage where the orchestras of the most prestigious English Schools in Buenos Aires will be playing together with bag-pipers and other bands.

Another attraction, specially for collectors, will be the exhibition of antique cars and the fair of vinyl records.

Guitars of the World International Festival 2016


The "Festival Internacional Guitarras del Mundo 2016” (Guitars of the World International Festival 2016), will take place from October 18th through October 30th, 2016, with free entrance to the public.
For the past 22 years, the Festival "Guitarras del Mundo" has remained the biggest world wide event dedicated to guitars and guitar players.
"Guitarras del Mundo" features regional music from around the world as well as new musical pieces, promoting at the same time meetings among different guitar schools.
In this year's edition more than 200 local and international guitar players and musicians will offer over 100 concerts with free entrance in 56 venues around the country. Buenos Aires Photo 2016


The twelfth edition of Buenos Aires Photo, the most important art fair specialized in Photography in Latin America, will take place at La Rural Exhibition Center, from October 13th through October 16th, 2016

This exhibition brings together the works from more than 20 art galleries from Argentina and different countries.

This year’ program is divided into several sections: the Main Section is comprised of a group of pre-selected local and international specialized galleries. Out of Focus is a solo project section designed for the exploration of different procedures, languages, and materials that are available to photography. The Link Project is a space that strengthens curatorial practices in photography in Argentina. Wunderkamer is dedicated to heritage photography. It emphasizes the beginnings of photography in its various technological processes and social practices. It also takes on the challenge of putting value in historical photographic material and documentary.
  
The Brazilian photographer Claudia Andujar will be the guest artist in this year´s edition, and the Argentine photojournalist Juan Di Sandro will be the honored artist.

Polo: 2016 Tortugas Country Club Open Polo Championship


The fixture for the traditional Tortugas Country Club Open Polo Championship has been announced. This is the first of the three great Polo Open Championships in the Official Spring Season of the Argentine Polo Association that make up the honorable "Triple Crown" of Argentine Polo, together with the 123rd Hurlingham Club Open and the 123rd Argentine Open in Palermo that will be played later this year.



Tortugas Open will kick off on Tuesday, September 27h, 2016, with the participation of the six teams with the highest handicap in the world, that will be disputing the Emilio de Anchorena Cup.

Antique cars exhibition and Gran Premio Jockey Club 2016 in San Isidro


Autoclasica 2016, the biggest festival for classic cars and motorcycles in South America will take place between Friday, October 7th and Monday October 10th, 2016, at the Gardens of San Isidro Race Track (Hipodromo de San Isidro).
Autoclasica features 900 antique vehicles in their original state, and in perfect working conditions, as they were at the moment of their manufacture, including cars, motorcycles, utilitarians, buses, boats, farm machinery and military vehicles.
The exhibition this year celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the emblematic Argentine car Torino, with the exhibition of two of the three historic Torino 380W that raced in Nürburgring “The Marathon of the Roads” in 1969.
Jaguar will exhibit 40 cars that will represent the history of the distinguished British brand. BMW will celebrate its 100th anniversary with an exhibition of cars and motorcycles, from the oldest to the newest models. Renault will bring from France its Renault Classics: vehicles constructed specially to break speed records at the salt flats or circuits like Monthéry.
The Ministry of Tourism of Argentina will present the mythical Route 40, the traditional road that passes through the provinces of Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, La Rioja, San Juan, Mendoza, Neuquén, Rio Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego.
More than 20 restored vehicles will represent the history of motor racing competition around a dynamic circuit so the fans can enjoy these vehicles running.
For collectors, the classic "Autojumble" and "Motojumble", with over 100 stands offering antique pieces and accessories, books, models, and auto clubs stands from around the country.
On Sunday 9 a jury will award the most outstanding vehicles in every category of the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA) in exhibition, and the "Best of Show” between autos and motorcycles of the year.
There will be special sectors for kids and food courts, making this a great event for the whole family.

At the same time, the Gran Premio Jockey Club G1, the oldest horse race in Argentina and one of the most important horse racing events in the Argentine racing calendar, will take place on Saturday, October 8th, at 6.30 pm on a distance of 2000 meters at the track of Hipodromo de San Isidro, on a race day that will start at 1 pm and that will feature two other Great Prizes: Gran Premio San Isidro (G1 – 1600 meters), and Gran Premio Suipacha (G1 – 1000 meters).

The Federal Championship of Asado


The first edition of the Federal Championship of Asado, dedicated to honor the Argentine identity through its more emblematic food ritual, will take place on Sunday, October 9th, from 11 am to 7 pm, in a giant open air event with free entrance to the public along Av 9 de Julio, from Corrientes to Av. de Mayo.

The 23 Argentine provinces and the Capital city of Buenos Aires will participate in the barbecue ("asado") competition. 24 grills (parrillas) will be installed at Plaza de la República next to the Obelisco. The participants will compete in two different categories, and will be evaluated by a panel made up of cooks from best Parrillas of Buenos Aires.

During the event visitors will be able to enjoy traditional Argentine dishes at the large Food Courts, as well typical national dances and live music shows.

Biennial of Contemporary Art


The third edition of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Argentina will take place between October 5th and October 10th, 2016 at Centro Cultural Borges, on Viamonte & San Martin (Galerias Pacifico), in downtown Buenos Aires.

Artists from all over the world and from all disciplines in the plastic arts have been invited to exhibit their works, occupying all the exhibition rooms at Centro Cultural Borges.
The Biennial will present awards in the categories of: Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Engravings, Drawings, Installations, Video Art. Ceramics, Porcelain, Digital Art, Textile Art, and Author Jewelry.

Gourmet Festival, Turf and Art



The second edition of the new gourmet festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday, October 8th Sunday, October 9th and Monday, October 10th, 2016, at Hipódromo de Palermo, with a Night edition on Saturday and Sunday, from 6 pm to 2 am, and a Day edition on Monday, from 12 pm to 9 pm.

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together in the parking lot of Tribuna Paddock, with entrance through Av. Dorrego and Av. Libertador, with 27 food trucks offering waffles, ribs, crepes, wraps, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, and more!

At the same time, on Monday 10th (Columbus Day Holiday), one of the most important events in the Argentine horse racing calendar will be taking place, the "Gran Premio Selección (G1)". In a journey with 15 races from 1 pm to 10 pm, the Gran Premio Selección will be run at 6 pm, with the participation of the best 3 year old mares on a 2000 meter dirt track. 

During the same afternoon visitors will also have the chance to enjoy an art exhibition named "Por una cabeza, Turf and Tango" inaugurating the mural by Alfredo Segatori on Av. del Libertador & Dorrego, with an exhibitions of art works and sculptures, tango music shows, and a fashion show.

Buenos Aires celebrates Kosher food and traditions


As part of the Rosh Hashanah celebrations, the government of the city of Buenos Aires organizes a Fair celebrating Kosher traditions that will be held on Sunday, September 25th, 2016, from 12 noon, at Plaza Uruguay, Av. Figueroa Alcorta & Tagle, with more than 50 stands offering a wide selection of products like books, crafts, paintings, and information about community activities, tourism, and Jewish shows.
There will be stands offering typical dishes from the traditional European and Mid-Eastern Jewish gastronomy, like knishes, shawarma, falafel, pastrami and bagles, and many other options in kosher food and information on Kosher hotels in the city.
Musical shows will be presented in the big stage.

Immigrants Day Celebration 2016


The Government of the City of Buenos Aires celebrates Immigrant´s Day with an open air Festival at the park Facundo Quiroga, opposite the Rose Garden and next to the Planetarium Galileo Galilei (Av. Sarmiento & Figueroa Alcorta), on Saturday, September 24, 2016.
Groups representing the different communities that reside in the city of Buenos Aires will offer their typical dances, gastronomy and culture, in an event for the whole family.
The celebrations will start at 1.00 pm.
This year the Festival will be organized in sectors that will represent the different continents, and within each sector there will be villages that will showcase the culture of the countries in each continent.
Dance and music shows by numerous artists from over 50 communities will be presented throughout the day.
There will be stands offering typical crafts, regional products, and traditional food and drinks.


Gallery Day - October 2016


Gallery, the original circuit for art lovers around art galleries, antique shops, museums and cultural centers, presents a new special edition of Gallery Day, that will take place in the neighborhoods of Palermo and Villa Crespo on Saturday, October 1st, 2016, from 12 pm to 5 pm.

The Palermo-Villa Crespo circuit covers the area surrounded by the streets of Dorrego, Av. Santa Fé, Lavalleja and Gascón, with more than 30 art spaces that will open their doors to show the latest works of their artists.

There is a free transportation service with buses with the logo of "Gallery Nights", with fixed stops and a constant route to get to all of the spots in the circuit. A free walking tour around the most outstanding exhibitions will start at 12.30 pm from the meeting point at Espacio Pla, on Malabia 1841.

As always, there will be live music and free shows, and guests will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne or premium beers. Maps will be provided to the public so they can visit their favorite galleries and exhibitions at their own pace.

Italian Festival Al Dente 2016


The fourth edition of the gastronomic, artistic and cultural festival "Al Dente! Día de la Italianidad en Argentina" will be held on Sunday, September 25th, 2016, from 10 am to 7 pm, in the neighborhood of Colegiales, with free access to the public.
"Al Dente!" is a celebration of the Italian gastronomy, that also features cultural, artistic and musical activities. This year the Festival will be held on Av. Dorrego and Enrique Martínez, next to the Flea Market in the neighborhood of Colegiales.
During the whole day the neighborhood will be intervened to celebrate its Italian roots. Communal tables, activities for kids, food trucks, the "Bondi Gallery", market stalls offering Italian-Argentinian products are some of the attractions of Festival Al Dente!
Musical shows will be presented during the day, as well as special offers at the Italian restaurants around Palermo Hollywood.

The Jockey Club Polo Open 2016



The magnificent fields of Buenos Aires Jockey Club, located in the town of San Isidro, North of Buenos Aires, will be home of one of the most important polo tournaments in our country. On Friday, September 16th, 2016, the 52nd Jockey Club Open Championship opens the high handicap polo season in Argentina, with the participation of 5 teams with a handicap between 29 and 36 goals, three of which will play the Triple Crown of the Argentine Polo Association.

8th Edition of Buenos Aires Food Week



Buenos Aires Food Week, the bi-annual event in which the best restaurants in the city offer lunch and dinner menus at promotional prices, will be held again from September 12th to September 25th of 2016.

The goal of this Food Week is democratizing access to haute-cuisine, offering the general public the opportunity to learn about premium restaurants and taste unique dishes at attractive prices.

Each restaurant will offer a fixed three step menu (starter, main course and dessert) with a fixed price of $ 220 pesos for lunch and $ 350 pesos for dinner, not including drinks, service charge, and tip, + an optional donation in a sealed envelope to the charity organization Fundación Banco de Alimentos.

French Week in Buenos Aires 2016




The French Week in Buenos Aires "Vivi Francia 2016" will take place from Saturday September 17th to Sunday September 25th, 2016, organized by the French-Argentine Commerce and Industry Chamber (CCIFA), and sponsored by the French Embassy and the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, with a series of activities to enjoy French culture, art, gastronomy, fashion, music and architecture, free and open to all.

VISIT TO THE FRENCH EMBASSY:
Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm: Joining the celebration of European Heritage Days (Journées Européennes du Patrimoine), the French Embassy in Argentina will open its doors to the public. This will allow visitors to discover the Palace Ortiz Basualdo (photo), home to the French Embassy since 1939, built by French architect Paul Parter in 1912.
Besides the main entrance and the honor staircase, the public will be invited to visit the reception halls in the first floor, which make the Palace Ortiz Basualdo a significant example of the French influence in the Argentine architecture.
Accessing the second floor, visitors will admire the main dining room, the music room in a Louis XV style with Chinese decoration, the ball room, its mirrors and its painted boards, as well as the XVI century English style winter garden.
The French Embassy is located in Cerrito 1399, Recoleta.

Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm: Visitors will have the chance to taste and purchase French bakeries and different specialties of the French cuisine, such as boeuf bourguignon, blanquette de veau, croque-monsieur, crêpes, soupe à l’oignon, cheese, as well as pastries, tarte aux pommes, financiers, macarons, chocolate, viennoiseries, pithiviers, gateau au chocolat, and much more, in over 20 gastronomic stalls.

Wine and Wineries´Expo: Vinos y Bodegas 2016


The expo "Vinos y Bodegas 2016" (Wines and Wineries, 2016 Edition), will take place from September 15th to September 17th, 2016, at La Rural Exhibition Center.
The most important Fair for the Wine Industry in Latin America will offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy the most renowned wine labels from traditional and boutique wineries in Argentina, at the Frers Pavilion where the event will take place.
High end wines from the wineries participating in the fair can be tasted through a thematic route representing the different Argentine wine regions producing Malbec, Torrontes, non-traditional varietals, sweet and sparkling wines.
The Wine Store is the space for those wishing to buy wine labels.
The exhibition comes complete with a tasting competition, a gourmet and organic market, guided tastings, food trucks, DJ sets, and live music shows.
For the past years Argentina has been positioned in the international wine market among the five main wine producers worldwide, after France, Italy, Spain, and United States.

Brazilian celebration in Buenos Aires


The city of Buenos Aires will pay tribute to the Brazilian community in Argentina in an artistic and cultural event that will take place on Sunday, September 11th, 2016, at the corner of Avenida de Mayo and Bolivar.
This event is part of a program of festivities destined to pay homage to the different communities present in the city, that has been carried out throughout the year. 
The event will start at 10.00 am. Musical shows and dance groups will represent the varied Brazilian musical rhythms.
The Festival will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of Samba, the central genre in the popular Brazilian music, with the presence of “Escola de Samba Estação Primeira de Mangueira”, one of the most traditional escolas de samba in Río de Janeiro, founded in 1928,
Visitors will also be able to enjoy exhibitions of Brazilian gastronomy and crafts, among other activities.

Fair of the Argentine Regions 2016


On Saturday, September 17th and Sunday, September 18th, 2016, the Fair of the Argentine Regions will be held at El Dorrego, Zapiola 50, in the neighborhood of Colegiales, with the participation of over 100 small and producers from all over the country.
Visitors will find crafts, wines and beers, chocolate, jams, cold meats, diary, yerba mate, olives, among many other national products.
The Fair will also feature a food court offering typical dishes at accessible prices, including empanadas from different provinces, parrilla, ice cream, Andean food, as well as cooking classes to learn to prepare regional dishes.
In addition a varied selection of artists will present music and dance shows, and activities for kids.
