Tartan Day 2014 on Avenida de Mayo

In an event organized by the Scottish Argentine Society and the City of Buenos Aires, the Scottish community in Argentina will be honored on Saturday, April 12th, 2014 celebrating the Scottish history and traditions with music, dance, crafts and typical products.
The event will start at 12 pm, with the opening of the Celtic and Nordic Fair on Avenida de Mayo and Bolivar, with 25 stalls offering crafts and traditional food, such as fish and chips, sandwiches, cold cuts, cakes, and Scottish candy.
The traditional parade with typical costumes and music will be presented at 2 pm on Avenida de Mayo, followed by several shows with the participation of: Tartan Army, Ardo Liltamor, El Clan del Jabali Rojo, as well as some other Scottish folkloric groups, and even an historic recreation of the Battle of Bannockburn in it´s 700th anniversary.
Tartan Day is a worldwide celebration in which the Scottish descendants remember their cultural legacy, history and people.
