Super Rugby 2019 - Jaguares home matches in Buenos Aires


Super Rugby is one of the most important and exciting international competitions in the world. Being the cradle of All Blacks, Wallabies and Springboks in the last twenty years, since 2016 this competition also includes the participation of Argentina with a franchise called JAGUARES, made up of some of the players who are regularly part of the Argentine rugby representative team, the Pumas.

The tournament is structured into a 15-team, three Conference format:

Australian Conference: Brumbies, Rebels, Reds, Waratahs, Sunwolves
New Zealand Conference: Blues, Chiefs, Crusaders, Highlanders, Hurricanes
South African Conference: Bulls, Lions, Sharks, Stormers, Jaguares

Each team plays 16 regular season Conference matches, 8 home and 8 away. This includes eight matches within their own Conference (home and away) and eight matches against teams from each of the other Conferences (home or away).

These are the home matches that Jaguares will play at home in Buenos Aires, all at Velez Sarsfield Stadium:

Super Rugby 2018 - Fixture of matches in Buenos Aires


Super Rugby is one of the most important and exciting international competitions in the world. In 2016 Season, the Kings from South Africa returned to the fray, along with the Jaguares from Argentina and the Sunwolves from Japan. The teams were arranged in four conferences within two groups: the Australasian Group features the Australian and New Zealand Conferences while the South African Group features all of the teams from South Africa, plus the Sunwolves and Jaguares.

In 2018 the 18-team, four Conference format will be changed to a 15-team, three Conference format. Gone from the competition were the Force (Australia), Kings and Cheetahs (South Africa). The Jaguares remain in the now one South African Conference while the Sunwolves joined the Australia Conference.

The Rugby Championship 2016


The Rugby Championship, the tournament that started in 2012 in replacement of the Tri Nations tournament, with the inclusion of Argentina joining the three rugby powers of the Southern Hemisphere (New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa) has become one of the most important international rugby competitions worldwide. During the tournament each team play a home and and away fixture against each opponent in a round robin format.

The Argentine team, Los Pumas, will dispute three matches as locals during the tournament, against South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, in the cities of Salta and Buenos Aires (Argentina) and London (England).

The debut of Los Pumas in our country will be on Saturday, August 27th, against South Africa's Springboks, at the stadium Padre Martearena, in the city of Salta.

The second match will be against New Zealand´s All Blacks, at the Estadio Velez Sarsfield (Buenos Aires), on Saturday, October 1st 2016

Rugby: Los Pumas vs The Springboks


The Argentine national Rugby team, Los Pumas, will meet the South African team The Springboks on a test match on Saturday, August 15th, 2015, at Velez Sarsfield Stadium (Av. Juan B. Justo & Alvarez Jonte, Buenos Aires), at 4.40 pm.

This match has been organized by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) as a tribute to the Argentine team that 50 years ago, on June 19, 1965 defeated the Junior Springboks 11-6 at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, giving birth to the name of "Los Pumas" for our national team.

This will also be the last presentation in the country before the 2015 World Cup that will start on September 18 in England.

The Rugby Championship, the tournament that started in 2012 replacing the Tri Nations tournament, with Argentina joining the three rugby powers of the South Hemisphere (New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa), will commence on it´s third year on 16 August, 2014 when Australia host New Zealand in Sydney.

During the tournament each team will play a home and and away fixture against each opponent.

The Argentine team, Los Pumas, will dispute three matches as locals during the tournament, against South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, in the cities of Salta, La Plata and Mendoza.

The debut of Los Pumas in our country will be on Saturday, August 23rd, against South Africa's Springboks, at the stadium Padre Martearena, in the city of Salta.

The second match will be against the All Blacks, the current World Champions, at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata, on Saturday, September 27th

Finally, on Saturday, October 4th, at the stadium Malvinas Argentinas, in the city of Mendoza, Los Pumas will play against Australia's Wallabies, in the final match of the third edition of The Rugby Championship.

Rugby: Los Pumas vs NSW Barbarians



The Argentine national Rugby team, Los Pumas, will meet the Australian team New South Wales Barbarians on two friendly matches, in preparation for the for The Rugby Championship 2013.
The first match will be played on August 3rd, 2013, 6.40 pm, at La Plata Rugby Club, Buenos Aires. The second match be on Friday, August 9th, 8.10 pm, in the city of Salta.
These matches have been organized by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR). The Australian squad will be made up of HSBC Waratahs players and invited players from the Sydney Premiership.
This will be the fifth clash between the two teams. The previous ones have always been played in Australia, with two victories for Los Pumas (19-7, in 1983 and 27-26 in 2000) and two for New South Wales (30-18 in 1986 and 42-16 in 1995).

The Argentine team, Los Pumas, will dispute three matches as locals during the tournament, against South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, in the cities of Mendoza, La Plata and Rosario.

The debut of Los Pumas in our country will be on Saturday, August 24th, against South Africa's Springboks, at the stadium Malvinas Argentinas, in the city of Mendoza.

The second match will be against the All Blacks, the current World Champions, at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata, on Saturday, September 28th

Finally, on Saturday, October 5th, at the stadium Gigante de Arroyito, in the city of Rosario, Los Pumas will play against Australia's Wallabies, in the final match of the second edition of The Rugby Championship.

Previous to this tournament Los Pumas will playing two test matches against Enlgand, on June 8th in the city of  Salta, and on June 15th in Buenos Aires, and a third test match against Georgia on June 22nd.

The Rugby Championship 2012



The Rugby Championship will be disputed for the first time in 2012. This tournament will replace the existing Tri Nations tournament, with Argentina joining the three rugby powers of the South Hemisphere (New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa).
The Rugby Championship will commence on 18 August, 2012 at ANZ Stadium. Each team will play a home and and away fixture against each opponent.
The Argentine team, Los Pumas, will dispute three test matches as locals during the tournament, against South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, in the cities of Mendoza, La Plata and Rosario.

The debut of Los Pumas in our country will be on Saturday, August 25th, against South Africa's Springboks, at the stadium Malvinas Argentina, in the province of Mendoza.

Finally, on Saturday, October 6th, at the stadium of Rosario Central club, in the city of Rosario, Los Pumas will play against Australia's Wallabies, in the final match of the first Rugby Championship.

Rugby: Los Pumas vs Barbarians


The Argentine national Rugby team, Los Pumas, will meet the French team Barbarians on a friendly match on June 4th, 2011, 4.00 pm, at Club Atletico Independiente Stadium, in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires.
This match has been organized by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR).
The team of Los Pumas will be made up of 14 of the players from Pampas XV, the Argentine team champion of the Vodacom Cup 2011 in South Africa. The coach, Santiago Phelan, has also included some of the historic figures of the national team, like Felipe Contepomi, Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe, Juan Leguizamón, Rodrigo Roncero y Martín Scelzo, among others, who obtained the 3rd place in the 2007 World Cup.
The French team will be comprised of some of the best players in the French rugby league.

Rugby: Los Pumas vs France


Los Pumas, Argentina's National Rugby team, will play again in Buenos Aires, this time against the French team.
This will be the third of a series  of friendly matches in which Los Pumas will face the national teams of Scotland and France. The first two test matches against Scotland will take place in the cities of Tucuman, on June 12th, and Mar del Plata, on June  19th.
The test match against France will take place in Buenos Aires on Saturday June 26th, at the Velez Sarsfield Stadium.

Rugby: Los Pumas vs French Barbarians



The Argentine national Rugby team, Los Pumas, will meet the French team Barbarians on a friendly match on June 20, 2009, 4.00 pm, at Velez Sarsfield Stadium (Av. Juan B. Justo & ALvarez Jonte, Buenos Aires).
This match has been organized by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) as a tribute to the Argentine team for obtaining the bronze medal at the 2007 Rugby World Cup, as well as a farewell match for some of the players who participated in the past world cup, like Agustín Pichot, Mario Ledesma, Gonzalo Longo, Martín Scelzo, Rodrigo Roncero y Manuel Contepomi, among others.
The French team will be comprised of some of the best players in the French rugby league.
