Two important events will take place this Wednesday, May 25th and Saturday, May 28th of 2016 for the celebration of the National Holiday, the May Revolution.

At the Festival that will take place on Avenida de Mayo and Bolivar on Saturday, May 28th, more than 40 foreign communities will gather to pay tribute to Argentina in one of the most important celebrations of the year.
The activities will start at 12 pm. The Festival will include more than 100 gazebos offering typical dishes, varied products and information about every participating country and community.
At the stands that will be placed on Av. de Mayo the public will have the chance to taste the typical products like pastelitos de membrillo, empanadas, locro, churros, carbonada, tamales, etc.
The opening will be by a chamamé group that will welcome the visitors, followed by the recreation of the battle of the first English Invasion performed by Asociación Civil Americana de Recreacionistas Históricos.
There will be a parade of flags led by the Band of the Argentine Army that will perform patriotic songs together with the communities.
An Argentinian folk musical and dance show with more than 35 dancers will be presented on the stage, and bands from 8 of the communities will play their traditional music.
100 couples will dance the "Pericón Nacional", and there will be classes of popular dances for the public.

On the other hand, the Mataderos Fair - that celebrates it´s 30th anniversary this year - will start the celebration on Wednesday 25th at 11 am  with a grand Pericón, where all the audience is invited to dance together with traditional dance groups.
Different music and dance shows will be presented during the afternoon at the main stage with the participation of renowened Argentinian folk singers and dance groups.
Visitors will be able to taste typical Argentinian products at the more than 700 stalls located on Av. de los Corrales & Av. Lisandro de la Torre, as well as purchase blankets, ponchos, leather and silver objects, and all kinds of handicrafts.
The Gaucho demonstrations will also be present during the day, with Pato (horseball) demonstrations, colt taming, ring races.

Two great opportunities to learn about Argentina, it´s traditions and this important National Holiday.
