Guided tour to the biggest two fairs in Buenos Aires, that take place every Sunday.
We start by visiting the San Telmo Fair in the morning. The fair is composed of 270 stands and is located in Plaza Dorrego. It is visited by about 10,000 people every weekend. On the streets, you can see Tango Shows and orchestras playing for all the visitors. The main attraction in this ‘feria’ are the antiques and culture that is being offered.
At midday we head to Mataderos Fair, which began 20 years ago in the area where the old slaughterhouses of the city were located. Today, it is the meeting point for people from the inner parts of the country who are deeply rooted to the customs of their different provinces and for those living in this city that like to be surrounded by handcrafts, typical foods and folkloric music and dance.
In 1991 the neighborhood was declared as “Neighborhood of the Argentinean Gaucho”.
At the fair stalls you will find, handcrafts, sweets, typical food, musical instruments, albums, clothes, accessories and objects for everyday use.
We´ll stop for a great lunch eating traditional Argentinean foods (Empanadas, tamales, humitas, locro & wines) and then visit the museum.
Before heading back we watch the horseback riding exhibitions, and the folkloric concerts.
Duration: Full Day (One fair only, half day)
Availability: Sundays from March to December only.
