The 14th edition of the French Week in Buenos Aires "Vivi Francia 2022", organized by the French-Argentine Commerce and Industry Chamber (CCIFA), and sponsored by the French Embassy, Alliance Francaise, and the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, will take place from Saturday, September 17th to Saturday, October 1st, 2022 with a series of activities to enjoy French culture, art, gastronomy, fashion, music and architecture, free and open to all.

Some of the most outstanding scheduled activities are:

Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th, 10 am to 5 pm 
VISIT TO THE FRENCH EMBASSY:
Joining the celebration of European Heritage Days (Journées Européennes du Patrimoine), the French Embassy in Argentina will open its doors to the public. This will allow visitors to discover the Palace Ortiz Basualdo, home to the French Embassy since 1939, built by French architect Paul Pater in 1912.
Besides the main entrance and the honor staircase, the public will be invited to visit the reception halls in the first floor, which make the Palace Ortiz Basualdo a significant example of the French influence in the Argentine architecture.



Accessing the second floor, visitors will admire the main dining room, the music room in a Louis XV style with Chinese decoration, the ball room, its mirrors and its painted boards, as well as the XVI century English style winter garden.
The visit is Free and does not require previous registration. An ID or Passport will be required to enter the Embassy.
Entrance will be on first come - first served basis, subject to capacity (be prepared for long lines). 
The French Embassy is located in Cerrito 1399, Recoleta.

During these two days an authentic French Market will be installed next to the Embassy, on Cerrito & Arroyo, offering typical French specialties, crafts and live French music:

Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th, 10 am to 6 pm
FRENCH MARKET "LE MARCHE":
Visitors will have the chance to taste and purchase French bakeries and different specialties of the French cuisine, such as boeuf bourguignon, blanquette de veau, croque-monsieur, crêpes, soupe à l’oignon, cheese, as well as pastries, tarte aux pommes, financiers, macarons, chocolate, viennoiseries, pithiviers, gateau au chocolat, and much more, in over 20 gastronomic stalls.
The market will be located next to the Embassy, on Cerrito & Arroyo.
(The market will be suspended in case of rain)



GOURMET ROUTE:
Several French restaurants and bakeries in the city will offer special menus and promotional prices during the week.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:
The Festival will also feature a movie series, art exhibitions, concerts, theater shows, French lessons, special visits to museums, free guided tours, conferences, and more. All the activities are open to the general public, most with free entrance but some of them with a limited capacity and admittance charge.
