Festivales Musicales de Buenos Aires, the 30-year old non-profit organization with the aim of spreading music in its highest artistic expressions, presents the Festival 2010: "Bach and the Schumann Circle".
2010 is the year of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann (1810-1857) and Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849). In 1850, the Bachgesellschaft (Bach Society) was created in Leipzig under Schumann's initiative, showing his predilection for Bach, shared by an exquisite circle of composers, like Chopin, Brahms, Mendelssohn, and the renowned pianist Clara Schumann.
This year's program includes a selection of works from the above mentioned composers, including great symphonic-choral works, concerts, symphonies and chamber music, performed by notable Argentinian and international musicians.

The Science Tunnel, a scientific multimedia show presented by The Max Planck Society, arrives in Buenos Aires on March 8th, 2010. A fascinating expedition into the mysteries of our world, groundbreaking discoveries and the current issues and insights of modern science.

More than 300 large-format images and over 150 video clips from current research projects from every area of modern research, many of which have never been seen before, offer fascinating insight into the hidden worlds of the micro and macrocosmos. 50 exhibits, many of them interactive, invite visitors to observe and discover what scientists explore. Major scientific achievements in significant areas of research in natural and life sciences are presented. The exhibits combine with fascinating images and films to make a visit to the Science Tunnel an emotional and aesthetic experience that will stimulate discussion and reflection.

Most of the unique pictures, videos and exhibits come from the 78 Max Planck institutes. Many of the objects in the exhibition have been put on public display for the first time. Hundreds of large-format colour pictures and dozens of video clips present an attractive selection of scientific breakthroughs in recent years.

In the Science Tunnel, a scientific multimedia show, visitors move through twelve stations, from the smallest elements of our world to the largest structures in the Universe:

The notable bar and bookstore "Clasica y Moderna" presents a new program organized by the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires, called "Notable Pianists" every Saturday at 6.30 pm until April 24th, with free entrance.

The invited pianists, all of them with an extensive national and international career, will be accompanied by several musicians who in turn will act as guest artists.

The Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires has presented its program for the 2010 Season. After three years of restoration works, the companies will return to the theater's concert hall, that will be inaugurated on May 24th, 2010, with a Reopening Gala in celebration of the May Revolution Bicentenary. The 2010 Season will feature great figures as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta Paloma Herrera, and Yo-Yo Ma.
