Italian Gastronomy Week 2014

The Tourism Entity of the City of Buenos Aires, and the Italian Embassy in Argentina, together with Pietro Sorba, renowned gastronomic journalist author of numerous local restaurant guides, present the event "Semana de la Cocina Italiana en Buenos Aires", a week dedicated to honor the Italian gastronomic traditions in Buenos Aires, from May 30th to June 5th, 2014.

The program of activities include a series of different events, organized as follows:

“Mangia che ti fa bene”: 45 of the best Italian restaurants in the city will offer lunch and dinner menus at promotional prices. Each restaurant will offer a menu with a fixed price of $ 99 Pesos for lunch and $ 179 Pesos for dinner, per person, not including drinks and tip. Cover charge is included.

Some of the menus are only available on certain days of the week and some restaurants don´t take reservations, so make sure to read about these conditions on the website.

"Italian dreams of great Argentine chefs": some of the best Argentinian chefs present their creations honoring the Italian gastronomy in their creations: Dante Liporace (Tarquino), Fernando Trocca (Sucre), Patricio Negro (Peugeot Lounge), Martín Molteni (Puratierra), Fernando Rivarola y Sebastián Raggiante (El Baqueano), Guido Tassi (Restó), Germán Martitegui (Tegui).

"Italia, open kitchen": On May 31st, from 11 am, six Italian chefs will present two recipes from their region of origin at the bower in Barrancas de Belgrano, on 11 de Septiembre between Sucre and Echeverria. With the participation of: 
Carlo Contini: drinks from Piamonte, Emilia Romagna, Veneto, Lombardia, Toscana, Sicilia and Liguria.
Mauro Crivellin (Ristorante Mauro.It): Piamonte
Leo Fumarola (Ristorante L'adesso): Puglia
Roberto Ottini (Wordshops and Altracosa Viandas): Lombardia
Sebastian Raggiante (Ristorante La Moreneta): Emilia Romagna.
Mario Sciolla (Ristorante Mangia Mangia) Piamonte

"Aperi-Giro": The famous bars at Guido Restaurante, Leopoldo, Aramburu Bis, The Sensi, Wadley Public Bar, Ike Milano, will be offering menus at special prices inspired in the Italian flavors, paired with cocktails prepared with Italian aperitifs. Click here for more information.
