Festival Popular de la Francophonie 2015 in Buenos Aires

The International Francophonie Day, which celebrates the French language and Francophone culture, is celebrated every March 20. The Fourth Popular Festival of the Francophonie will take place in Buenos Aires on Thursday, March 19th 2015, at Plaza San Martin (Av. Santa Fe & Maipu) from 12 pm to 8 pm.
The Festival will include exhibitions, music, traditional dances, shows, typical food, tourist information, to illustrate the diversity of the nations involved.
An open air "village" will be set up at Plaza San Martin, with gazebos representing some of the Francophone and Invited Countries participating in this event, like: Algeria, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt, United Arab Emirate, Slovakia, Slovenia, France, Georgia, Greece, Haiti, Hungary, Lebanon, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, Qatar, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominican Republic, Romania, Serbia, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uruguay and Vietnam.
The Festival will be officially inaugurated at 1 pm by the Ambassadors of the participating countries. It will continue with the participation of the groups Baires Polka (Slovenia); Soneros del Calamaní (Mexico); Sokol (Czech Republic); artists like: Rosana Taddei (Switzerland); Pablo Mezzelani (Romania); Bifkaia Group and Dabke Ballet from Club Libanés.; new Dance Group from Dominican Republic; the Children´s Choir of Liceo Francés Jean Mermoz; and Austrian Choral Philharmonic.
All activities are open to the public with free entrance.
