The 42nd Buenos Aires International Book Fair will take place from April 21st to May 9th, 2016 at La Rural Exhibition Center in Palermo. As every year, it will feature conferences, round-tables, talks with prestigious national and international intellectuals, book presentations, shows, activities for children and teenagers, events for specialists and publishing professionals, and book sales of literature in all languages.

The Fair is the largest of its kind in the Spanish speaking world. It is considered one of the most important cultural and editorial events in Latin America, and a meeting point for authors, editors, book sellers, distributors, teachers, librarians, scientists, and over 1,200,000 readers from around the world.

One of the outstanding features of the Fair is the participation of internationally renowned authors. Some of the outstanding intellectuals that have confirmed their presence this year are:  Mario Vargas Llosa, Milena Busquets, Paolo Giordano, Sergio Ramírez, Carlos Franz, Rick Yancey, Gemma Lluch, Pablo Montoya, Piedad Bonnet, Andrés Neuman, Leonardo Patrignani, Laura Restrepo, Vicente Cervera Salinas, among others.

The special activities of the Fair this year include: a Book Reading Marathon; the International Poetry Festival; Story-telling; meetings with "booktoubers"; kids and youth sectors; tributes to Cervantes and Shakespeare; International Meeting dedicated to Jorge Luis Borges; free workshops; musical shows; book signing; among many others.

The guest city at the Fair this year will be Santiago de Compostela, with the presentation of more than 25 of its best authors and special activities.

Monday to Thursday: AR$ 50.
Fridays, Saturdays, Sunday: AR$ 70
3 Day pass: AR$ 100.
Children under 12, free
