Carne! First gastronomic festival dedicated to Argentine meat

The first edition of the gastronomic festival Carne! (Meat!), that will take place on April 30th and May 1st, 2016 at Hipodromo de Palermo, will bring together for the first time the best parrillas of Buenos Aires and the leading meat roasters. The grilled meats and different cooking methods will be the stars of this new festival aimed at fans of this icon of our culinary identity. More than 60 stands and food trucks wil offer meats in all its varieties. Admission to the festival is free of charge.The fair will be mounted in the center of Palermo Hippodrome track in a natural setting with vegetation and small lakes.

Only suitable for carnivores, visitors will be able to taste red meat, fish, poultry, exotic meats and offal, among other dishes. Some of the recognized parrillas and local restaurants that have confirmed their presence are La Cabrera, La Dorita, Don Julio, Cabana Villegas, Le Grill, Campobravo, Las Nazarenas, Dale Perejil al Toro, Ravello, La Posada, El Baqueano, La Mar and La Pescadorita, among others. 

The gourmet burger joints, so fashionable today in the city, will also be present in a special sector, with La Cresta, Dellepiane, Francis Platz, Del Toro, Burger Mood, La Burguesa, and Carne (the hamburger restaurant from top chef Mauro Colagrecco). There will also be an area of food trucks, where specialties based on meat will be offered. Donato de Santis will prepare porchetta, a typical dish from the Italian cuisine; Santiago Giorgini, meatballs; Mood Food, shawarma; Diggs with its irresistible lamb ribs; Dogg's will offer 15 different types of hot dogs; El Baqueano, dishes with local meats such as ñandu, yacaré and llama, among others.

Fans of the meat will also have the opportunity to enjoy the best empanadas and cold cuts; buy dressings to take home; and learn the best recipes for the grill, in an amphitheater with talks and workshops.

All of this accompanied by an area of wines and wineries: Casa Bianchi, Estancia Mendoza, Norton y Argento. Beer Stands, and cocktails by Inés de los Santos; Icecreams and traditional Argentine desserts by Compañía de Chocolate, El Piave, Próspero Velazco, Jéssica Lekerman, Guapaletas and Guilab.

In case of rain on Saturday 30 the Festival will be re-programmed for May 21 and 22.
