Teatro Colon 2017 Season
The prestigious Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires, one of the most important Opera Houses in the world, has announced its program for the 2017 Season, which starts on March 2nd with one of the concerts by the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra.
The 2017 season features, among other great performances, the outstanding presence of Daniel Barenboim and Martha Argerich, that return for the fourth consecutive year with the East-Western Divan Orchestra;
The ballet program includes performances by Isabella Boylston, Marianela Nuñez, Anna Ol, Alessandra Ferri, Herman Cornejo.
The Green Subscription returns with concerts by outstanding international artists, like the Mexican tenor Javier Camarena, the Brazilian conductor Isaac Karabtchevsky with the Argentine pianist Sergio Tiempo as soloist; and the soprano Jessye Norman.
Among the Opera productions, one of the most important this year will be La Traviata, with régie by Sofia Coppola and costume design by Valentino, in a production by Teatro dell´Opera di Roma.

CONCERTS
The Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra (OFBA), directed by Maestro Enrique Arturo Diemecke, will offer a series of 17 concerts throughout the year, with the participation of outstanding soloists and guest conductors, such Diana Damrau, Boris Berezovsky, Ángel Romero, Midori, Elena Bashkirova, Pinchas Zukerman, Mariano Rey and Claudio Barile, among others.
The Permanent Orchestra of Teatro Colón will offer a program of three concerts conducted by Mario Perusso, Rodolfo Saglimbeni and Mika Eichenholz.

Domingos de Camara - Intérpretes Argentinos (Chamber Sundays): Series of FREE concerts on determined Sundays at 11 am, by renowned Argentinean chamber groups at the main concert hall of Teatro Colón.
Free tickets must be picked up the previous Friday, 10 am to 8 pm. Only 2 tickets per person will be handed, limited to the theater's capacity.
The 2017 Season will come complete with the program by the CETC (Centro de Experimentacion del Teatro Colón), the program Colón Contemporáneo (contemporary works); ISA (Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón), the Chamber Opera series, and the concerts performed at the Theater by private musical organizations like Nuova Harmonia and Mozarteum Argentino.
