Festival celebrating the friendship between Argentina and Japan

On Sunday, August 19th, 2018, the Japanese Garden of Buenos Aires presents an open air Festival commemorating the 120 years of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Trade and Navigation between Argentina and Japan, with the participation of artistic groups from the Japanese community in Argentina.

On this day the Japanese Garden will open its doors with free entrance to the public, from 10 am to 6 pm. During the day different dance groups, singers and music bands representing the Japanese community together with Argentine folk groups will offer their shows on the main stage on Ave Berro between Av. Sarmiento and Casares - which will be closed to the traffic - and inside the Garden.

Program:

Stage on Ave. Berro:
11.00 am: Inaugural Act
11.40 am - 11.55 am: Songs by Ru Inchausti
12.10 pm - 12.30 pm: Taiko by Mukaito Taiko.
12.40 pm to 1.25 pm: Geki – Recreation of Argentine-Japanese friendship.
2.00 pm - 2.15 pm: Argentine Folk Dances by Ballet Zapukay
3.20 pm - 3.35 pm: Songs by Romina Shimabukuro
3.40 pm - 3.55 pm: Argentine Folk Dances by Compañía de Arte Argentino
5.00 pm - 5.40 pm: Closing of the event. Taiko Show by Ryukyu Koku Matsuri Daiko and Mukaito Taiko.

Stage inside the Japanese Garden:
2.40 pm - 3.00 pm: Grupo Corimayo, Tango and Ballads. With Hiro Hanashiro and Gisele Sasaki
4.15 pm - 4.35 pm: Odori and Uta (Japanese songs and dance) by Asociación Japonesa Burzaco

Typical Japanese products and food will be on sale at more the stands.

This Festival is organized by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the Argentine-Japanese Cultural Foundation, and sponsored by the Embassy of Japan in Argentina and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
