Every March 17th, the most important day in its calendar, Ireland celebrates its patron saint, Saint Patrick. This special date will be celebrated once again in Buenos Aires on Saturday, March 19th, 2022 with a big Fair and Street Parade organized by the Irish - Argentine Association, on Avenida de Mayo between Bolivar & Piedras in downtown Buenos Aires.

The traditional Saint Patrick's Day Parade will start at 12:00 pm, when the representatives of the Irish groups residing in Argentina will march towards the large stage. Visitors are encouraged to wear green to accompany the parade.

The Marching Bands of the Argentine Army and Buenos Aires Tartan Army will also participate in this event, in honor of the Irish born Admiral William (Guillermo) Brown, founder of the Argentine Army.

More than 50 stalls will be offering typical Irish products, books, crafts and traditional food such as and Colcannon, Boxty and Coddle, among many other specialties.

During the day different shows will be presented on the main stage, including traditional folk dances, music and pipes. Several Irish artists will be present together with Argentine musicians, finalizing at 7:00 pm.

In case of rain the event will be rescheduled.

The Irish community in Argentina is one of the largest in the world (calculated in 500,000 people). In recent years the celebration of St Patrick’s Day has been extended to most of the Pubs in Buenos Aires and all Argentina.
