Buenos Aires Art Experience 2019


A new contemporary art festival, Buenos Aires Art Experience (BAAEX), will be held from April 12th to April 15th, 2019, from 3 PM to 9 PM, at the Buenos Aires Race Track, Hipódromo de Palermo, with free entrance to the public.
The Festival will feature Equine Art, Painting, Photography, Performance, Body Painting, Fashion, Drawing, Comics Digital, Multi Media and interactive art, as well as special activities for kids organized by Da Vinci Institute.
More than 150 artists will have the opportunity to promote and showcase their works. A percentage of the sales will be destined to the animal rescue foundation 'Fundación Aliento de Vida Animal'.
On Friday 12th and Monday 15th visitors will also have the chance to attend the horse races of the day.

Nuestros Caballos 2019 (Our Horses 2019) Equestrian Exhibition


The 2019 edition of "Nuestros Caballos" (Our Horses), the most important equestrian exhibition in Latin America, will be held at La Rural Exhibition Center from March 29th to April 2nd, 2019, with equestrian and recreational activities for the whole family.

Children and adults alike will have the chance to see, in the heart of the city, over 700 horses specially brought from different spots in the country for this exhibition, from the main breeds that are raised in Argentina: Criolla, Árabe, Cuarto de Milla, Polo Argentino, Silla Argentino, Tiro Argentino, Percherón, Petiso, Peruano de Paso, Appaloosa, Paint Horse and Pura Raza Española.




The program of activities of "Nuestros Caballos" will include a variety of attractions, such as:

° Indoor Show Jumping competition
° International "Pato" (horseball) competition
° Polo exhibitions
° Dressage Exhibition
° Argentine Final of the "Golden Gag Bit" of "Criollo" breed.
° Election of the national champions from the different breeds

77th Argentine Pato (Horseball) Championship

The Final of the 77th Argentine Pato (Horseball) Championship (Abierto Argentino de Pato), the most important tournament of this sport in Argentina, will take place on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 at Campo Argentino de Polo in Palermo, at 4.00 PM, with the participation of the two best teams of our National Sport, El Siasgo Vetifarma vs. General Las Heras La Blanquita Agropharma.

Pato (Horseball) is a traditional Argentine equestrian sport, practiced since the beginning of the XVII century, and declared as Argentina's National Sport in 1953. "Pato" is an exciting game that combines polo and basketball, and in which two teams made up of 4 players each, by a series of passes and combinations to elude their adversaries, try to introduce the "Pato" (Duck) through a vertical ring. The rings, located at the center of each end of the field, are 1 meter (3.3 ft) diameter, and are located on 2.4 m (7.9 ft) high poles. The "Pato" is a ball with six handles. The player that is in possession of the "Pato" must hold it and ride with his right arm extended, offering the rivals the opportunity to steal it.

Pato is a similar, but earlier version, of the game of Horseball played in France, Portugal, and other countries.

Horse Racing 'Gran Premio Nacional' and Food Festival in Palermo

GRAN PREMIO NACIONAL




The "Gran Premio Nacional" (GI), the oldest and most important race in the Argentine turf calendar, will take place on Saturday, November 10th, 2018, at Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo, Av. Libertador & Dorrego.

On October 5, 1884, the Hipodrómo Argentino de Palermo inaugurated what would become the most important race in the yearly calendar, the Gran Premio Nacional. This great prize is also known as the "Argentine Derby".  This outstanding 2500-meter race is very attractive for the public since due to the distance the start is located facing the grandstands. Other classics (GI) are included in the day's schedule: Gran Premio Hipódromo de Palermo and Gran Premio Maipu.

The Great Prize "Gran Premio Nacional" will be the center of a spectacular journey that will start at 11:30 am, with different activities for the whole family, such as:

° "Behind the scenes" of horse racing: a guided tour led by specialized guides, that will be available every 30 minutes, from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
° Historic tour: every hour from 2 pm to 5 pm, a tour to learn about the history and architecture of one of the most emblematic sites in the city of Buenos Aires.
° Train to the Start Line: a little train will take visitors near the gates to see the start of the races up close.


NOTICE: APETITO FESTIVAL GOURMET HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR BAD WEATHER FORECTAST AND REPROGRAMMED FOR NOVEMBER 24th AND 25th


At the same time, a new edition of the gourmet festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday, November 10th from 12 noon to 2 am, and will continue on Sunday November 11th, from noon to 12 am.

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together along the racing track, with entrance through Av. Dorrego and Av. Libertador, with over 30 food trucks offering waffles, ribs, crepes, wraps, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, vegetarian options, and much more!

A new edition of the Gourmet Festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday, October 6th and Sunday, October 7th, from 12.00 PM to 12.00 AM, at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo (Av. del Libertador & Dorrego).

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together with more than 30 food trucks offering hamburgers, crepes, pulled, pork, bagels, Mexican food, empanadas, fish, vegetarian food, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, and more. Furthermore, there will a a beer garden with more than 25 craft beer brewers, and a line up of musical shows each day.

The Gourmet Festival may be suspended in case of rain.


At the same time, on Saturday 6th, starting at 12.00 pm, one of the most important events in the horse racing calendar will be taking place, the "Gran Premio Selección" (G1 - 3 year mares), in a racing day with events, shows and special activities for the whole family.

During the afternoon, the Art exhibition Epona - Arte Equino will be open to the public,  reflecting the beauty, strength and nobility of the horse as Argentinian cultural patrimony, with works by 7 artists.

Visitors will also have the chance to learn about the "behind the scenes" of horse racing, on a guided tour led by specialized guides, that will be available every 30 minutes, from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The Federal Championship of Asado 2018


The third edition of the Federal Championship of Asado, dedicated to honor the Argentine identity through its more emblematic food ritual, will take place on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018, from 10 am to 6 pm, in a giant open air event with free entrance to the public in the neighborhood of Mataderos, on Lisandro de la Torre betweeb Av. de los Corrales & Av. Directorio.

The 23 Argentine provinces and the Capital city of Buenos Aires will participate in the barbecue ("asado") competition. The participants, that will be evaluated by a panel made up of cooks from best Parrillas of Buenos Aires, will compete in four different categories for the title of best Asador of Argentina.

During the event visitors will be able to enjoy traditional Argentine dishes at the large Food Courts, as well typical national dances, gaucho skills demonstrations, a Pato (horseball) demonstration, ring races, live music shows, and lots of special activities.

The artisans´ stalls on Av. de los Corrales, where the traditional Mataderos Fair takes place every Sunday will be open to the public offering their products.

This fantastic day for the whole family will be closed with a music show by popular Argentine folk group Los Nocheros, at 5.45 pm.

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together with more than 25 food trucks offering hamburgers, crepes, pulled, pork, bagels, Mexican food, empanadas, fish, vegetarian food, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, and more. Furthermore, there will a a beer garden with more than 25 craft beer brewers, and a line up of musical shows each day.

At the same time, on Saturday 2nd, starting at 12.00 pm, one of the most important events in the horse racing calendar will be taking place, the "Polla de Potrancas" and "Polla de Potrillos" (Poules), which mark the start of the Triple Crown of national turf, both G1 on 1 Mile, in a racing day with events, shows and special activities for the whole family.

During the afternoon a charity exhibition of horses intervened by visual artists called “Horse Parade” will be open to the public from 2 pm to 9 pm at Salon Turf.


Visitors will also have the chance to learn about the "behind the scenes" of horse racing, on a guided tour led by specialized guides, that will be available every 30 minutes, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Exposición Rural 2018: Annual Exhibition of Cattle Breeding, Agriculture and International Industry


The traditional Livestock and Agriculture Exhibition ("La Rural"), held every year in Buenos Aires for over a century, is one of the most important of its kind worldwide, bringing together more than a million visitors among producers, tourists and general public. 

In this year's edition, that will take place from July 18th through July 29th, more than 4500 animal exhibitors and 400 commercial brands will be showing their products: laboratories, leather goods, banks, automotive industries, farm machinery, and providers of services and goods for the agricultural industry.



Visitors will have the opportunity to attend the many activities that take place every day during the Fair, such as:

Gourmet Festival, World Cup and Horse Racing at Hipodromo de Palermo


A new edition of the Gourmet Festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday July 14th and Sunday July 15th, 2018, from 11 am to 11 pm, at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo (Av. del Libertador & Dorrego).

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together with more than 30 food trucks offering hamburgers, crepes, pulled, pork, bagels, Mexican food, empanadas, fish, vegetarian food, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, artisan beer, and much more!

At the giant screen visitors will be able to watch the Third Place play-off and Final matches of Russia World Cup 2018, with games and entertainment for the whole family:

Saturday 14th - 11 am: Third place play-off - Belgium vs England
Sunday 15th - 12 pm: Final - France vs Croatia

On Sunday 15th from 3 pm to 8 pm visitors will have the chance to enjoy the horse races of the day.

Gourmet Festival, Horse Racing, and World Cup at Hipodromo de Palermo


A new edition of the Gourmet Festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday June 30th and Sunday July 1st, 2018, from 11 am to 11 pm, at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo (Av. del Libertador & Dorrego).

The best cooks and beer brewers will get together with more than 30 food trucks offering hamburgers, crepes, pulled, pork, bagels, Mexican food, empanadas, fish, vegetarian food, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, and much more!

At the giant screen visitors will be able to watch the matches of Russia World Cup 2018, that will be played at 11 am and 3 pm on both days, with Argentina playing France for a chance to pass on to the quarter finals on Saturday at 11 am.


At the same time, on Saturday 30th the Palermo Race Track presents the 28th Edition of "Carreras de las Estrellas", with six G1 Great Prizes, among other races in a format similar to the Breeders' Cup, from 1.30 pm to 9 pm, in a special journey featuring art and fashion shows.

During the afternoon, from 1 pm to 7 pm, at the Hall of Tribuna Oficial,  the Art exhibition Epona - Arte Equino will be open to the public,  reflecting the beauty, strenght and nobility of the horse as Argentinian cultural patrimony, with works by 7 artists: Teresita Martínez Gondra, Connie Müller, Adriana Zaefferer, Hugo Diez, Jimena Sundblad, Filio Acosta del Rio and Lucas Beccar Varela.
At Tribuna Paddock the exhibition Live Artists will feature Elizabeth Iasci, Ana Romero, Guillermo Irmscher, Hernán Cagliano and Mariela Monges Arejola painting live for the public.
The renowned designer Adrián Brown will present his collection Crucero 2018 with a fashion show at the stairs of Tribuna Oficial, at 3.30 pm.


Visitors will also have the chance to learn about the "behind the scenes" of Carreras de las Etrellas on a 20 minute guided tour, that will be available every 30 minutes, from 2.30 pm to 4 pm. Registration will be required at the Stand located between the bar Rabieta and tribuna Paddock.

The Festival of the Argentine Horse and Gran Premio Republica Argentina 2018


A day full of fantastic events for horse lovers and for all visitors in general will take place on Labor Day Holiday, Tuesday, May 1st, 2018, at Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo and the Argentina Polo Field, on Av. Libertador & Dorrego.

The first edition of The Festival of the Argentine Horse will showcase a variety of demonstrations of equestrian sports such as Pato (Horseball), Polo, and Show Jumping; exhibition of the different horse breeds: Arabian, Appaloosa, Polo Argentino, Percheron; a food court; and activities for kids, at the Argentina Polo Field and on Avenida del Libertador, from 12 pm to 7 pm.





At 5 pm a show by the popular folk singer Chaqueño Palavecino will be presented at the main stage on Av. del Libertador.

At the same time, the Great Prize "Gran Premio Republica Argentina" (GI), one of the most important classics of the year, will be the center of a spectacular racing day at Hipodromo de Palermo (Palermo Racetrack) that will start at 1:00 pm. This outstanding 2000-meter race gathers the best 3 years old and older pure thoroughbred horses of the national and foreign equestrian activity. Other five big prizes (GI) are included in the day's schedule: Great International Prize of the Americas; Breeders' Prize - which winner will classify for the Breeders Cup in Kentucky; Great International Prize of Buenos Aires City; Great Prize Jorge de Atucha; and the Great Prize Montevideo.

"Sustainable" Hat Show and Fair will be held from 12 pm to 6 pm, where ladies will be able to purchase their hats to wear during the day. The proceedings are in benefit of EcoMujeres, a foundation dedicated to promote sustainable design.

Visitors will also enjoy a food fair with the best food trucks in the city, and recreational activities for kids.

A new edition of the gourmet festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday, April 7th from 1 pm to 2 am, and Sunday, April 8th, from 1 pm to 12 am, at Hipódromo de Palermo.


The best cooks and beer brewers will get together in a special sector, with entrance through Av. Dorrego and Av. Libertador, with food trucks offering waffles, ribs, crepes, wraps, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, and more!

At the same time, on Saturday 7th the Palermo Race Track presents "A Day at the Races", a special journey presenting the Great Prizes Premio de Honor (G1) and Gilberto Larena (G1), and the classic Benito Villanueva (G2), among other races.


During the same afternoon visitors will also have the chance to enjoy "Wine and Art", an exhibition of contemporary artworks by over 50 artists from different regions of Argentina, and wine tastings from ten high end wineries.
As part of the exhibition, seven renowned artists present "Portraits of Jockeys", depicting the seven best jockeys of Argentina. These works will be on sale in benefit of Fundación Equino Argentina, which will donate the proceedings to the School of Jockeys of Hipódromo La Punta (San Luis). The jockeys and their artists are: Jorge Valdivieso by Hugo Diez; Aníbal Etchart by Jorge Rajadell; Marina Lezcano by Adriana Schaefferer; Pablo Falero by Michel Fassi; Jorge Ricardo by Iñaki Pavlovsky; Juan Noriega by Maximiliano Bagnasco; Altair Domingos by Martina Elisa Montoya.

Gourmet Festivals and Food Fairs this weekend


Three fantastic and fun gastronomic events will be taking place this weekend of Saturday March 10th and Sunday March 11th, 2018 at different outdoor locations around the city:

A DAY AT THE RACES & APETITO GOURMET FESTIVAL



A new edition of the new gourmet festival “Apetito” will take place on Saturday from 10 am to 2 am, and Sunday from 1 pm to 12 am, at Hipódromo de Palermo.

The best cooks and beer brewers will get in a special sector, with entrance through Av. Dorrego and Av. Libertador, with food trucks offering waffles, ribs, crepes, wraps, pizzas, smoothies, hot dogs, ice cream, coffee, and more!

At the same time, on Saturday 10th the Palermo Race Track presents "A Day at the Races", a special racing journey presenting the classics Saturnino J. Unzué (G2 - Mares - 1200 meters), Santiago Luro (G2 - Foals - 1200 meters), Arturo R. y Arturo Bullrich (G2 - 3+ year mares - 2000 meters) and Otoño (G2 - All horses 3+ years - 2000 meters).

During the same afternoon visitors will also have the chance to enjoy an art exhibition named "Lunatica, Arte & Turf" by Alfredo Segatori, with an exhibitions of art works and sculptures, tango music shows, and a fashion show.

BUENOS AIRES MARKET



The main producers of organic and healthy food in Argentina will gather again in a street market in Buenos Aires, on Saturday and Sunday, from 11 am to 7 pm, with free access to the public.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste free samples and buy at a promotional prices natural foods and beverages in an area specially located at the square Parques Nacionales Argentinos located on Sucre & Av. Figueroa Alcorta, in the neighborhood of Belgrano.

More than 70 gazebos will be installed, where the participating producers will offer products in the following areas: Oils; Alcoholic drinks (organic wines, beers); Soft drinks and natural juices; Cereals and seeds; Spices; Nuts; Fruits & Vegetables; Farm produce; Delicatessen; Gourmet food; Flour and derivatives; Mushrooms; Infusions; Vegetables; Dairy; Bakery; Jams; edible Flowers; Pasta; Herbs; Snacks, and more.

There will be a special area with food trucks offering special menus for visitors and healthy food to go or to enjoy right there on the communal tables of this picturesque market.

Some activities for children will be held in a special space.

APETITO FESTIVAL GOURMET



A new edition of the Food and Music Festival "Food Fest BA" will take place on Saturday from 1 pm to 12 am, and Sunday from 11 am to 10 pm at the central court of La Rural Exhibition Center, on Av. Santa Fe 4201 (Plaza Italia), with free entrance to the public.

This is an open air event offering Street Food and music shows, where visitors have the chance to try different kinds of food from the best Food Trucks in the city, as well as wines, beers and cocktails.

Various emerging artists and music bands will be presenting live music shows throughout the weekend, and an exclusive DJ Truck will liven up the atmosphere of the event. This weekend is dedicated to women.
