Formula 1 exhibition in Argentina

On Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 3 PM, a Formula One Red Bull will make an exhibition on Avenida 9 de Julio, the widest avenue in the world. Driver David Coulthard will be behind the wheel for this exhibition event held at different cities around the world.
The circuit, that will start at the Obelisk and will cover Av. 9 de Jullio between Avenida Corrientes and Avenida Cordoba, will allow Coulthard to set the car to full speed.
A great opportunity for Formula 1 lovers who will be able to feel up close the 700 HP of this powerful car.

Iñaki Urlezaga presents the world premiere of Carmina Burana

The prestigious Argentine dancer Iñaki Urlezaga presents Carmina Burana, with choreographyc production by Jean Pierre Aviotte, accompanied by his company Ballet Concierto and Teatro Colón´s Orchestra and Choir, at Teatro Opera.
Carmina Burana is a collection of chants from the 12th and 13th centuries, preserved in a unique Codex found in 1803 by Johann Christoph von Aretin at the abbey of Bura Sancti Benedicti (Benediktbeuern), in Bavaria. The codex comprises a total of 300 rhymes, written mainly in latin, some in an ancient German dialect, and ancient French.
Between 1935 and 1936 German composer Carl Orff set 24 of the poems to music, also called Carmina Burana, becoming a symbol of the German spirit. The most famous movement is "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi (O Fortuna)"
Iñaki Urlezaga began his dance lessons at the age of 8 in his hometown, La Plata, and soon he entered Superior Institute of Art of the Colón Theatre in Buenos Aires. He won a scholarship to improve in The School of American Ballet where he stayed for a whole year. His professional career started in 1991, at the Argentinean Theatre of La Plata. In July 1993, he joined the Colón Theatre in Buenos Aires as Principal Dancer through an International selection. He was chosen by the French choreographer Pierre Lacotte for the premiere of "The Sylphide". In March 1995, invited by Anthony Dowel he joined The Royal Ballet of London where he made an excellent artistic career as Principal Dancer. In 2005, invited by Ted Brandsen, joined the Dutch National Ballet as Principal Guest Dancer. In 2003, while continuing his career as Principal Dancer, he started a choreographic activity creating plays that received excellent press reviews and have been performed at international festivals.
He now returns to Argentina for the world premiere of his latest creation.
