The week of Palermo Neighborhood

Starting on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010, the government of the City of Buenos Aires invites to the celebration of "La Semana de Palermo" (The Week of Palermo), with music and circus shows, "milongas" in the streets, guided visits, cultural exhibitions, sports, and recreation for the whole family.

These are some of the most important activities:

SATURDAY 23:

8.00 pm: Astronomic Projections by the Planetarium. 
Activities of the day in different parts of the neighborhood:

Festival of India in Buenos Aires 2010

The Embassy of India in Argentina presents the Festival of India, that will take place between November 4th and 16th, 2010. The Festival is intended to promote and portrait the Indian culture in our country.

Activities:
Photo Exhibition at Plaza San Martin
Exhibition and sale of handycrafts from India and live demonstration of by Indian artisans. Centro Cultural Borges, 12pm to 8pm
Gastronomic Festival. Sheraton Hotel. November 4-14, from 8pm (by appointment)
Folk and classic dances at Centro Cultural Borges
Movie Festival. Auditorium Centro Cultural Borges
Children's Festival on Sunday 7th, 3pm, Centro Cultural Borges
Seminars on Indian Culture, Literature, Yoga, Ayurveda, etc,. every afternoon at Centro Cultural Borges

VI Buenos Aires Antiquarian Book Fair

Organized by the Argentine Antiquarian Bookstores Association (ALADA), the VI Antiquarian Book Fair will take place from November 4 to November 7, 2010, at the Ministry of Education, with free entrance. 
This annual event emphasizes the highly valuable cultural heritage of antique books, manuscripts, documents, engravings, maps and photographs available in the antiquarian bookstores of Buenos Aires, placing the city in an outstanding position among other cities where similar fairs are held, like Paris, Madrid, New York, or Milan.
The Fair will showcase a varied selection of antique books, historical documents, maps and photographs, primitive Argentine prints, first editions, and a great amount of diverse, carefully selected printed material.

Week of the Cafes and Notable Bars of Buenos Aires


Starting October 22nd, 2010, Buenos Aires celebrates the "Week of the Cafes of Buenos Aires", in which the Notable Bars will be honored, offering a series of activities that will culminate on Wednesday 27th with a free open air concert by singer Soledad Villamil at Esquina Homero Manzi, in the corner of San Juan y Boedo, at 8.30pm.

During these days there will be guided visits to know the history of these emblematic places, and musical shows at every Notable bar.
On Tuesday 26th, the "Day of the Cafes" will be celebrated, with a 4x2 offer. On that day guests can order 4 coffees and pay only 2, while enjoying tango and flamenco shows, between 7pm and 9pm, at one of these bars:
