On Saturday August 2nd, 2014, the traditional Mataderos Fair, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Buenos Aires, moves to Palermo to offer a festival that will feature craft stalls, regional products, parades of carriages and horse riders, and folk music shows.
The event, similar to the Fair held every Sunday in Mataderos, will be held from 11 am to 5 pm on Av Sarmiento and Belisario Roldan, near the Planetarium.
Dance and music shows will be presented on the main stage, with the presence of artists like: Lorena Astudillo, La Chacarerata Santiagueña, Pancho y sus Manos Brujas, Romance de Zamba, Daiana Velazquez, Juanjo Abregu, Los Bombos Zupay, Percusión Buenos Aires.
Carriages and horsemen with typical attires will perform demonstrations of our country men and their horses.
The Fair will feature around 300 stalls with traditional crafts from our provinces, like “mates”, cutlery, silverware, textiles, leather and handicrafts of indigenous peoples, local products from around the country, including goat cheese, olives, wine, salami and alfajores, and traditional foods such as empanadas, locro, humita, tamales, meats, tortas fritas and pastelitos.
The Festival and all activities are free of charge, and will be suspended in case of bad weather.

  1. I suggest everyone check with the official website http://agendacultural.buenosaires.gob.ar when you want current information.Last week I got info. that the French Market was in Plaza Francia last Sunday. Today, before this post re Mataderous was updated, I wasted valuable time going to the original address and day posted. By the way the address given here does not match the address given on the official website for next weekend...feel free to check it out!

I appreciate your comment, but this time the wrong information about the Mataderos Fair being held on Saturday 26th in Palermo came from that very website, the official Agenda Cultural of Buenos Aires. Today they have removed that wrong info and updated the date to August 2nd. And I believe they list the same address, Av. Sarmiento and Belisario Roldan.
The French Market was canceled by the organizers of that event the night before without any notice, so there was no way to post the warning enough in advance.
I appreciate your comments and I´m sorry if I caused you any troubles.
I get very upset when I get to publish wrong information I receive from the same organizers of some events. I can't follow up with everything and many times I don't have the chance to make the necessary changes to the information already published.
