Gastronomic Festival with important restaurant discounts

The website Restaurant.com.ar organizes its 4th Tour Gourmet Buenos Aires 2009, an opportunity for all foodies (member of Restaurant.com.ar and the general public alike) to enjoy some of the best restaurants in Buenos Aires with incredible discounts.
In this edition of the Tour Gourmet, from January 12 to February 28, all participating restaurants offer a 30 % discount as a minimum every day on the total of the check when ordering "a la carte". There will also be special discounts or free wine tastings on specific dates. This is a free event for the general public and doesn't require registration.
To use this benefit, enter Tour Gourmet website, choose a restaurant, make the reservation by phone, print the discount coupon clicking on "Certificado de Beneficio", and present it when asking for the check. All participating restaurants requiere advance reservation to use this benefit.
The list of participating restaurants will be updated every day.

Summer with free cultural activities in Buenos Aires

The government of the City of Buenos Aires presents "Aires Buenos Aires - Cultura para respirar" (Culture to Breathe), a program of cultural activities that starts next Saturday, January 10, consisting on over 800 free events, including: musical shows, drive-in movies, theater plays, activities for children, circus, open air "milongas", and numerous musical events, every day during January and February, 2009.
Iñaki Urlezaga, Los Auténticos Decadentes, Jaime Ross, the group Miranda, Jairo and Iván Noble, are some of the artists that will entertain the audiences with their shows.
The schedule includes 124 activities, with over 800 events, around 20 neighborhoods of Buenos Aires: 14 movies, 4 theater plays, 45 recitals, 7 popular "milongas", 18 children's shows, 6 circus shows, and 10 workshops for kids.
The drive-in will be set up at the Rose Garden, on Iraola & Sarmiento, Paseo de la Infanta, every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM. There will also be stalls for spectators without a car. The first two showings will be "El Nido Vacío", by Daniel Burman, and Leonera, directed by Pablo Trapero.
Children will enjoy shows by artists like Adriana, Los Cazurros and La Banda del Musiquero Loco, among others, as well as children's plays and painting workshops at Pasaje Lanín, in the neighborhood of Barracas.
Ballet lovers will have th chance of seeing Iñaki Urlezaga in "Carmina Burana" at the Obelisk, on January 17 at 9:30 PM.

The closing of the activities will be on February 28 with four outstanding shows in different locations: Jairo sings Horacio Ferrer (Mataderos Amphitheater, 7:30 PM); Flemish singer Enrique Morente (Avenida de Mayo & Peru, 9 PM), La Portuaria celebrating its 20 years (Costanera Sur, 9 PM) and Café de los Maestros (Planetarium, 7:30 PM).
