Japan pays tribute to Argentina




On May 25th, an historical and significant national holiday in Argentina (the celebration of May Revolution), the Federation of Nikkei Associations in Argentina (FANA), together with the Argentine-Japanese Cultural Foundation (FCAJ), want to pay tribute to Argentina organizing an event featuring the most important Japanese disciplines to promote the Japanese Culture, the Toru Mizutani Cultural Day.
The event will take place at the Japanese Garden of Buenos Aires, where the audience will enjoy demonstrations of Japanese cooking; stands with typical plants and vegetables, and traditional food as Sushi and Ramen; games for children; exhibition of books; and a series of outstanding shows for the whole family in a beautiful environment.

12:30 pm: Demonstration of Japonese cooking by Nikkai Restaurant
2.00 pm: Recreative Japanese Gym by Hatanaka Takane- Junior volunteer from JICA
2.00 pm to 5.00 pm: Participative Workshop of GO by Argentine GO Association.
3.00 pm: Japanese songs by Miss Yumi Miyai
4.00 pm: Demonstration of Kyu Do (Japanese Archery) by Japonese Kyu Do Association.
5.00 pm: Japonese Drums by Mukaito Taiko Group
5:30 pm: Raffle

European Cinema Film Series at Alliance Francaise

Organized by the European Comission Delegation and Alliance Francaise, with the collaboration of the embassies of the member states of the European Union, the 6th European Cinema Film Series (6a Muestra de Cine Europeo) will feature 16 movies from 17 countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Lituania, Italy, Nederland, Poland, Rumania, Czech Republic, Sweden, from May, Monday 18th to Friday 22nd, 2009.
